Cap warfare: Ashimmu and the Curse

So i have started to train amarr ships to delve into cap warfare, and I was originally going to fly an ashimmu, but i have been reading a bunch and am wondering now... I suppose the next best option below BS is the curse (or pilgrim i suppose) but I am not sure. I was thinking about an ashimmu to be like a mini bhaalgorn (the talisman bhaalgorn that R&K uses looks nice) but looking at the bonuses from the curse, it seems like the curse is a more of a "mini-bhaalgorn" than the ashimmu (because of range).

My question, for what fleets/engagements/tactics should an ashimmu partake in and what fleets/engagements/tactics is a curse more suited for?

The Curse is a fantastic boat for nano gangs, murders tackle and can completely disable most ships, can operate from good range and is pretty hard to tackle down unless it gets jammed really.

The Shmu, I have never flown.

curse is great, the pilgrim is awsome(best used solo well listining to this)

ashi is bad if you want to neut and do damage curse and pilgrim are better
you want to webb get your minnie to 5 and get there recons

now if the ashi did range for both then it would be worth the time. but it try's to beat two ships that not only do it stronger but at better range or with a cov op cloak. if it was range range it would atlest be good at catching any thing in scorch range but it dosn't so its not any thing to write home about.

I wanted to paint my space ship red, but I couldn't find enough goats.

Ashimmu is just bad, and is really only decent at a gate camp (web bonus/neuts).

Otherwise it's a ineffective Curse with a similar pricetag.

So what cap warfare ship would you bring to a armor gang?

Curse if you like keeping a little distance, Pilrgim if you like cloaky SURPRISE up-close-hugging.

^ this. Also Legion can make a tackle / neut config with a monster tank if you want to spend the isk on it.

I like all 3 and use them regularly. The pilgrim is the best surprise buttsecks ship out there, the curse is a great anti-support and skirmish ship while the ashimmu is the very last word in heavy tackle. Those bad mouthing the ashimmu are probably trying to use it as something other than tackle. That said, it's the most hilariously overpowered solopwnmobile against frigate gangs. Never was a 5v1 fight so terribly one sided in favor of the solo dude.Lol

Fireworks and snowballs are great, but what I really want is a corpse launcher.

Big thanks to all the replies, I think i will buy a Ashimmu/curse and fly those in some fleets to get the feel of em.

The ash is great if you use it for it's main purpose. Tackle and anti-tackle. I use mine in our AHAC gangs and have a couple remote sensor boosters used on me to get ridiculous quick lock on times. The tank is not the best so you have to be careful if your fleet engages other fleets of similar size. You have to wait a bit before engaging to ensure some of the dps is off the field so you don't get smashed.

Haven't flown the curse yet but it's almost required in our group that you have to pimp it out so it can get pricey

ash is better on gangs . It can fill the role perfect as anti tackle . Curse - pilgrim well those ships have enough comments for how good they are.

ashimmu is a bad ship all around.
get a pilgrim for an armour gang, curse for solo/nano gang, legion/bhaalgorn for fleets.

There is no Bob.

No it's not; if you can fly recons an Ashimmu is literally buying a similarly priced hull for less utilization.

Curse/Pilgrim out perform an Ashimmu in every way possible, and before you start talking about its lackluster web bonus, here's a novel idea, bring a Rapier/Huginn.

We tried using ashimmu's in our fast moving ahac gangs. We ran into a few problems:

-cap is bad
-too slow
-dps is anemic if fit with half guns half nuets
-doesn't tank enough

We ended up moving to other ships for nueting and bringing vigilants if we want the super webs.
