Problem is you dont need manual travel in high-sec most times, and the auto-pilot by default is too slow

Whats the point? If you are not there playing the game, what does it matter if your boat arrives 1 hour later or sooner? You're not there anyway! Ugh

Actually I would suggest a compleatly different direction.
I think travelling should be slowed down significantly. Make the cluster a bigger place by reduce the factor of warpspeed. Sub light speed is fine as it is.
It could take a day or more to travel through a system...to conquer one constellation would take months not days or weeks.
Interstellar travels would be dangerous risky adventures that you have to plan. ..so many possibilities...

..and remove mandatory local entirely...create comunication "frequencies" where you can register and comunicate if you like to and want to have informations...

The only afk skill I want to see is one that let's you overwrite the auto pilot and force afk ships into low / null sec.

There are good ships,

And wood ships,

And ships that sail the sea

But the best ships are Spaceships

It is not.

Cyno's lit, bridge is up, but one pilot won't be jumping home.

The way the auto pilot is today it kind of forces people to afk. Would be nice with a skill to improve the distance it lands from objects

Wait, people actually use autopilot?

Auto pilot forces you to AFK because its to slow??

Try pressing the buttons yourself then, its faster and you wont be forced to AFK because you not auto-piloting

It's not been nice, but thanks for using lube

Auto pilot is more or less useless because its so slow. It would be nice with a skill to improve it, so you dont have to click all the time, but still get from a to b in a timely fashion

Not having to click wtz and jump all the time allows people to spend time on actual game related stuff instead. And tbh if you dont like people afk'king you shouldnt make the auto-pilot suck, because the suckier it is, the longer people will afk

Don't want to read 10 pages on my lunch so this may have ben said.
Forget about the auto pilot and think all warp to zero. Scout says he has tackle fleet warps to zero each ship land at a random distance in a sphere(let's say 20km) around the ship.

No No NO NO NOOOO!!

Terrible idea.

You should never reward players for being AFK or add skills that encourage AFK play.

But wait. I have a solution for all you AP whiners:

"Here in New Eden we are happy to introduce the Pod Express Shuttle Service.

A new, free, and completely hassle way to travel!!

You have been found running around in your pod, a fragile little thing, and so we wished to speed up your travel time as a free and gratuitous service while you enjoy your stay in high security space.

While we were at it we also thought your clone to be a rather old, defunct and outdated version and so, due to our affiliation with cloning services throughout New Eden we have allowed you the great satisfation of a new and better clone.

Make sure to check out the gift shop on your way out. Have a nice day!"
