Capsuleer's experiments described as "Hilarious" by Caldari scientists !

Recently, Gutter Press came across an incident, where a capsuleer was apparently "experimenting" on helpless civilians, before throwing their corpses overboard.

Disturbing.

Such things are not uncommon, the Blood Raider Covenant are known to drain persons of their blood, and leave the bodies for others to find, sometimes rigging them with electronic surveillance devices.

However, while the Covenant claim religious reasons for their atrocities, the capsuleer behind these particular incidents claims to be doing this in the pursuit of scientific knowledge.

" I conduct experiments on human subjects and dispose of the resultant biowaste by jettisoning it into space", said the capsuleer, identifying themselves as "Saede Riordan" of Alexlva Paradox. "My experiments are an early look into how exactly consciousness exists, the software running in the brain that we experience as consciousness. Perhaps even make the brain part unneeded."

The reasoning behind these so-called "experiments" was that "Modern neurology has no idea how consciousness forms".

Gutter Press did some investigation, sharing the details with some Caldari scientists to get their opinions on this curious incident.

"the rantings of a crazed capsule pilot or propaganda with an anti-Practical bias" was the opinion of one scientist, renowned chemist Vaun Erryk, going on to say "that whole mess seems so cartoonish".

" There's no justification for that." said multidisciplarian researcher Verin Hakatain, who agreed with the statement that "brain vivisection is simplistic, inefficient, reinventing the wheel".

"Z-grade rubbish" said another researcher, who had previously worked for the Arek'Jaalan effort. "If it wasn't for the Disciples of Ston finding the bodies, I'd have assumed they were rubber movie props, and this was some kind of set-up for another low budget holo-film."

The corporation at the centre of this, Alexylva paradox, is based out of an Angel Cartel station, and has a pilot by the name "Nikita Alterana" on the payroll. Nikita Alterana is no stranger to what may be termed "Bad Science", being involved in a debacle several months ago, involving an attempt to purchase "Jovian Slaves" with nonexistent chromosomes.

Several capsuleer pilots describe "Alexylva Paradox" as "attention-seeking idiots with no redeeming qualities", with one pilot saying that "They're probably an Angel cartel plot to make the Cartel seem less threatening, by appearing to be absolutely terrible at everything science related, thereby shielding the Cartel research installations".

Curious!

Whatever happens next, Gutter Press will be sure to write about it !

This seems pretty accurate, with referenced quotes. I wonder if Muck Raker is stepping up their journalistic game?

Dude, we seriously are, like way more awesome then that.

I can personally assure everyone in this thread, that we are, in no way, terrible at everything.

We are in fact awesome.

So there.

Now-now, why do you describe this as "disturbing"?
You, reporters, are always exaggerating! Science and the search of truth requires sacrifices.

I always thought science required the publishing of research papers for third-party review to ensure validity and reproducibility of experiments done and claims made. Of course that's discounting the research done to realize potential commercialization of a new product or design which would seek to maintain secrecy through a corporate NDA until a patent is filed - but even that would require an outline of the unique innovations and features of the research and product to be disseminated.

Granted, such views are based on how the business of research and development is conducted in the State and it may be pursued differently elsewhere. I would still say I fail to see how a scientific venture carried out by staff who lack pedigree and credibility and are, "Totes serious about Science," As might be said in the Federation as they pursue their work very much in the public eye without professionalism or discretion holds any kind of future promise.

Unless of course it's all some form of scientific charlatanism, in which case I await the news of a successful Cold Fusion reaction to be made by the staff of the Alexylva Paradox in the future.

I also fail to understand the purpose behind a brain vivisection when there's far more accurate and non-invasive techniques to gather data. Neuron doping and magnetic resonance methods have been around for centuries for one I believe.

I like how a proxy is being used to dig up years old fedoshit to slander someone the proxy user doesn't like. Even if I don't like them either. I know more about the actual goals behind that crap that you decided to write about than you ever will, and even -I- disapproved of it. Worthless article.
