Bots in jita.

Why Jita is full of bots who spam jita local with scam links? i know scam is alowed but boting is ilegal, everyday same persons spam jita local for 100% in afk boting mode with program who uses macro to copy paste links or somthing like this, they 24/7 loged in jita, they never wrote any other message in local they just bots, somtime i try convo some of themt just to see online status... i see always only one message after conversation atempt, (You are not allowed to contact xxxx) This explain all, they block everyone and they afk.

I think we need more CCP employe in jita who can split and sort them...This jita madnes boting spams always remind me, low end mmos, where full of sh** spam, in game messages chanels, also in this gaming aspect EvE isn't better than other mmos.

Botters are becoming a problem, However i dont spend much time in jita, Mostly because im a merc and there are too many unknowns in such a populated system. But when i am in there, i never ready local chat. as youve said its full of Botters, and also Scams.

Still needs to be fixed. I don't know why CCP allows this to continue.

Can you be sure they're bots? Dropping the same message in local is pretty easy and I wouldn't bother accepting convos from people I don't know or haven't scammed if I was in their position.

If assets are supposed to be taken away when they're gained via botting, does that mean scammed assets should also be taken away if someone is using a chatbot to scam with a contract link?

Incidentally, I think it's Shift+Up Arrow that reposts your last post to Local. So the same message repeating doesn't really indicate a Bot.

This has been an ongoing issue...

Will it be "fixed"? More then likely not...

Best way to combat it? Ignore local and have plenty of bookmarks...

I have nothing againist scaming as well but what i hate are those bots AND that they just recycling alts (isnt this againist eula?). if they want to scam they should use their main. So the block function should work again.

Deleting a Character is only an exploit if you're doing it to avoid the penalties of having a low Sec Status.

Well they are avoiding blocks. after week or so (when 9/10 ppl in jita have them blocked) they just recycle.... I think that this is an expolit.

There's not much point trying to work around blocks. Blocks matter nothing to a scammer - the person who blocked you saw through the scam already. Scammers aren't targeting those people observant enough to block them.

Sadly does not work as well as we wish it. I reported this guy http://eve-live.com/p/Raphael_Sheen for the first time at 2012-07-17 (and multiple times since then) - yet CCP does nothing - despite he is pretty obvious he's not a normal pilot sitting by the keyboard spamming.

And there are tons of then - just look at the top 15 for the past day - http://eve-live.com/stats/Jita

They together spam more than the legit pilots talk together.

Using Alts to avoid Social Penalties in EVE is a time honored tradition. Why should your "blocking rights" be special?

So the game automatically blocks you?

'Cause the Game automatically docks you Sec status, and that's the comparison you're trying (and failing) to make.


GCC > The Game enforces a Sec Status Penalty > Recycle to avoid Low Sec status = Exploit
Whatever > Some other Person Blocks you > Recycle to avoid long block list* = Escaping Social penalties for your actions, a time honored tradition in EVE


*Recycling alts to keep bugging a specific person would be bannable for a different reason.

I don't think that's what game mechanic means, and I think that if you want to argue about non-issues you should create a new topic or mail a GM.
