Are there any forums besides the something goons forums that is not run by CCP? Would be great if there was a forum inwhich players can honestly discuss eve issues without having to worry about viloating any forum rules ie profanity, rants or even the occasional critique of CCP. I understand corps have forums but they arent a public forum. I might just have to turn to the darkside and join the somethingawful forums.

somethingawful is far worse than Evegate. Mods just rampage through the forums. Ban you anytime they disagree with you. Tell you your banned because they disagree with while questioning your sexuality. On the positive side reading the banned section is funny as hell.

Somethingawful.com has very little to do with EVE, It's a massive forum only a fraction of which participates in goonfleet. I believe there's only a handful of eve related threads on the entire site. Goonfleet maintains a second alliance only forum separately for discussing eve related stuff.

If you want a good non-CCP EVE forum open to the public try http://www.kugutsumen.com/ (I heard they stopped banning you for mentioning it. Guess we'll see.)

I hate to break the news to you, but outside forums are often much more heavily moderated and that is why people like them. Post the normal GD dribble there and you're unceremoniously kicked out or temp banned.

Used to be a Star Wars forum or group or something on Myspace. Several thoudand members. That was awesome, everyone was cool. If you posted a stupid thread people would have fun with it or just let it die. No moderation and no real hostilities, complete oposite of Evegate.

I'm guessing the bans would have been for purposefully circumventing the forum filter, which had the name on auto-asterisking for a long time (but not anymore). Might be mistaken though.
