Tengu level 4 blitz's vs nullsec ratting?

Have ability to do both, don't have the ability to do past a 7/10 anom in null. Which one would be better time spent making isk/h. I have heard upwards of 100m an hour in a tengu but again not much experience with it.

You will make more ISK/hr by simply belt ratting in "good" null sec. Mission-running involves having multiple agents, lots of docking and undocking, rejecting missions and waiting out 4 hour decline timers. Belt ratting involves warping from belt to belt (in multiple systems, if possible) and killing the rats that are sitting there waiting for you.

The catch? In null sec you can't just log in and head off belt ratting. Many alliances divide up the sovereign space so that your corp has system X, the neighbours have their own system, and so forth. As you curry favour with your Alliance overlords your corp will be granted more/better systems to rat/mine in. Another catch is that you can't just go ratting any time you want: if there are non-blues in system you'd be foolish to rat in the belts. If there is a CTA you'll be better off as a corporation to join in and get your corp ticker known (so you can get promoted to better systems, etc).

So in effect, you're trading the inevitable four hour decline timer for the inevitable CTA/trespassers. Life in null sec is very different to life in hisec. The similarities are that you fly space ships and shoot things. Everything else is different. You don't blindly jump through gates in nulsec. You don't walk away from your computer while your ship is blowing up NPCs in null sec. You don't have a hundred people active on corp/alliance chat in hisec. You don't get a dozen folks interested in hunting down and blowing up other players in hisec.

I have lived in null sec and enjoyed it, I have lived in w-space and enjoyed it. I am now living in empire and enjoy it.

That's just my opinion. Others will differ.

I can live in nullsec just fine but I never bothered to rat as I have been doing level 4's on an alt, but I am ready to start ratting but want to know if I should just blitz with a tengu or rat the belts. Sounds like ratting the belts and doing low anoms is where it is at/

I expect that 4/10 and above will be more profitable and entertaining than belt ratting.

You get around the 4 hour decline timer by getting your *faction* standing above 5. Declining a mission provides a miniscule hit to your standings so you can decline multiple missions in a row. However, your corp standings will take a hit, and if your corp standings go below -2.0, you won't be able to mission for that corp, but that takes a lot of declines in a row to happen.

Using faction standing also makes the agents near low-sec viable.

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

Does that somehow pull blitzing ahead?

Also why would I only be making 20m an hour in 7/10 anoms? just need a better DPS boat? Saving up for t2 sentry ishtar currently flying a myrm.

I am however, extremely far off of t2 sentries, would maybe a blasterthron to faster anoms in the meantime?

Are you part of a null corp/alliance. If you are and they have upgraded ihub you can just run the anoms. I find it gives a more steady income. You can very easily run havens in a T2 fit tengu, orbit at 70km and spam the missiles, take out frigs first. You could probably do higher level ones if you paid more attention, but I do this while I pvp on another account Big smile

I don't think any of the space I am in is upgraded.

What is the most efficient ship for anoms/ratting if I am gallente trained but don't have t2 sentries but have t2 large guns.

Thanatos Twisted.
I have battled to get gallente to work for me for PVE. I find keeping range the safest way to run anoms so generally use missile boats unless I am in amarr space, in which case an APOC or geddon works better than the tengu or even the legion. I have seen corpies run anoms very efficiently in mach's, but you will need large projectiles and some cross training for that.
Maybe a shield domi with some new drone damage mods will do it. Tried a megathron for vl4's, but wasn't great, might work OK as a sniper with rails for anoms.

What region you planning on running in? in most cases its best to choose the ship that does damage to the races weakest resists.

I am fighting serpentis, so far the only decent option is sentry ishtar but I am 30d off of t2 sentries.

Don't forget the Gila. Drop sentries, shoot missiles to aggro, orbit while your sentries blow stuff up. Garde IIs will rip through Serpentis like a hot knife through butter. The catch is that you lose a few million ISK every time a non-blue enters system, unless you're brave/stupid and run back to pick the sentries up before docking/warping to POS.

Heh, I have suprisingly more gunnery skills, I suppose gila would probably still do better than ishtar given how much rails suck though.

I do Guristas Sanctums in a faction fitted Tengu. Alone I do 16M - 20M a tick. However I use a Thanatos Alt and assign 5 fighters and do 28M-32M a tick. I don't bother salvaging, seems that would take more time than it's worth.

I have a Tengu out in null right now. Been there for about 3 weeks so far. ORE space and Syndicate. NPC null.

The Tengu is mostly T2 fit with the exception of 3 CNBCUs. I have decent although definitely not maxed skills.

While ratting around belts and some cosmic anomalies (Hubs, Sanctums, etc) I can easily make 50-60 mil an hour. The trouble is getting ammunition, if you use T2 missiles which I do. Hard to go back to T1. If I use T1, it drops the isk per hour a bit.

For exploration, it's relative. I'd say I average about the same, but it's less consistent, a few good mag sites and I can get 200 mil in a single hour, but that's not every day.

Finally, for DED complexes, I soloed a serpentis fleet shipyard the other day. 10/10. For the stronghold, I went out to 70 km and the station did not repair armor anymore. Repaired shields but that was fine, took about 10 minutes to kill the station. The 23rd Tier overseers personal effects are worth 130 mil, just like that, as well as the bounties from the mission, I got about 180-190 million. Took me just a bit over an hour (would of been faster if not for someone coming into the system..). The Tengu can definitely solo most serpentis DED sites. In fact some of the missions in the Gallente epic arc were harder.

Blitzing level 4s is not really that good because loyalty points simply don't return what they used to, at least not the corporations I've looked over. Even with the best of them you won't get more isk per hour than in null sec, and it's far more boring.

Not sure why you'd have to fly too far to pick up the sentries, you should be orbiting them at close range.

If you're picking between the ishtar and gila based on what weapons you'll have in the high slots, you've already failed. When I ran an ishtar and gila, I had civilian guns in the highs, since that means you don't have to carry ammo. Your ship-based weapons are just aggro-getters, nothing more.

Guristas salvage is pretty bad.
