Anyone have a suggestion for a starting point on a null sec plexing tengu? Ive been kicking it around and trying a few fits out but wanted some input from others who have experience. I know traditionally the tank centers around a deadspace small shield booster with a boost amplifier and the amplification node subsystem. Im aiming to pu t 6 HMLs on there as well and 3 BCUs to get the dps over 500.

Looked up...saw this F***ING clown dropping like a rock.  Woke up in Vylade wondering what just happened!!!

Your null sec plex Tengu probably will NOT have 6 launchers.
If you want to fly anywhere, any time, you will want a Covert subsystem and a Nullifier subsystem.
Your Tengu would then have 5 launchers. Closer to 400 DPS.
I personally like a large booster. Some ppl like mediums, but a single small will not tank very many plex's.

Running DEDs where your blue, Id for sure use the setup your asking about but indeed as the above poster said use a large booster.

If your using this setup in red space then your going to get scanned out and killed because you'll be taking far too long doing the plexs with 400 DPS and even then, some overseers will tank you with ease. The bastions in the 8s and 10s need 1600 DPS just to overcome they're rep.

Don't fly tengus but found this on Battleclinic with lots of +1's. Looks good on EFT but I repeat: I don't fly tengus.

Do you get enough DPS to solo the higher DED sites, 8/10 - 10/10?

^^ EDIT: It's pretty close to that fit. That should work. I use a shield boost amp/invul instead of the target painter.

My tengu has 6 launchers, Nullifier Subsystem, 680DPS, and tanks the 8/10 Gurista with a small shield booster.

I post stuff like it's a fact sometimes. But most times it's just MY experience. Or my preference.
I do tank all the Serpentis plex's. 10/10 and down with my fit, but tbh I rairly plex/fly into other areas of eve.
I would die in many of them if all I had was a small booster.
And I can't imagine flying around null without a covert subsystem.
Again though, it's just my preferences.
Your 680 DPS sure sounds like a nice asset :)

Pretty much the same specs with mine 686dps (normal) but if I'm travelling covert subsystem and nullifier a must, I use a medium deadspace booster as well.

This would die in a horrible fire in like every single 10 of 10 .. More specifically anything with a web..

Idk where he thinks this would tank but in the maze you will get one volleyed if you make it past the second room. There is a tengu fit around the forums that can tank the maze but it costs about 3 Bil and if you dont know exactly what you are doing it will die very fast..

No faction BCU's??? you missing alot of DPS without them.

Your right, but with the booster being valuable enough I'd rather fire an extra volley than risk a more expensive loss (I only gain 40 DPS for using them). Admitted I haven't lost one in ages but meh

EDIT: This fit can be complettely T2 for Guristas plexs and still do fine.

Lol I Love the EXCLUDING MAZE.. That plex really is so stupid.. I hope when they change the aggro mechanics they make some adjustments to it. I can understand a CCP trying to push people into running 10 of 10s with friends not solo but still only having like 5 ships total ingame that can tank that plex is really stupid..

But to OP I would literally just not ever try to run the maze..

Ships we've tanked the Maze with over the last 18 months

Tengu (solo and not moving an inch after warp in to 5th room)
Loki (solo)
Legion (solo)
Proteus (solo)
Nighthawk (w/logi)
Broadsword (w/logi)
Onyx (w/logi)
Phobos (w/logi)
Devoter (w/logi)

And just because we were board and to prove we could:

Maller (w/logi)
Buffer Tanked Abbadon (would not recommend trying again lol)
Shield Myrm (died in another maze because the freaking scimi
Buffer tanked Rokh

(the rokh and abbadon were scary, barely made it, but did make it)

The maze is still the easiest of 10/10s.
