Question for C5ers

When did you feel comfortable shifting up to C5s? I'm thinking currently that a minimum of 20 active players is what you want to maintain op sec due to the heightened traffic compared to C4s and because of all the horror stories i have heard about towers getting torched by fleets supported by dreads.

This would be 20 pilots available, not necessarily every night or every op; I am aware of what you need to complete sites and all that. I am more asking about the frequency of invaders with dread support than anything else; or are people still just not arsed to bash a tower?

Thanks,

Thing about c5/c6 wormholes is that if you give fights to people looking for one there's very small chance you will get invaded, if you just want to go all in carebear mode you increase the chance of invasion by 500% as if some established corp/alliance will see you constantly hiding and running from PvP they might get arsed enough to remove you from that wormhole.

pos bashes arent fun. even if you bring 12 dreads its still boring. noone likes doing it and the only reason why someone would is because they really dont like you

now we are neutral towards you. if every time wed find you youd hide in a pos, we'd start to dislike you. this goes for pretty much all the wh alliances and corps. Fight them, they like you, and noone will be bothered bashing towers and all kinds of boring stuff. Highclass wormholes are rather empty to start with and what we want the most is people/corps like yours to make the step. were not scary, well just burn your fleets down when ever we roll into you :).

stop worrying, invasions are boring, fights are fun :) give us fights and youll be loved by all the people in wh space

find a way to be able to fight people without losing all your isk every time and you'll be fine.
like Hathrul said, people in c5/6 space like fights and if you give them to them, they generally won't evict you since it's boring.

unfortunately, what usually happens when a new smaller group engages a larger established group is that they die horribly due to less numbers which is obviously not good for them.
if you want to be able to engage the larger groups, learn how to nano and you'll be able to engage most people enoguh to keep them happy (in fact probably annoyed since theyre used to blapping) without just getting rolled over.

the best advice i can give to anyone considering a move from low class WHs to high class WHs is just do it.

You do need a fair few active (more so compared to lower class WHs) as theres a lot less stuff you can solo and/or do with 2-3 people unless your really motivated to work your static or have people that are very comfortable mult-boxing.

To run C5 sites really requires around 5 people (there are people who do it with less multiboxing but if your just starting it usually takes awhile to get used to doing escalations with small numbers). Unless you've got around 6-7 people active most days around peak playing time you will get people who are fedup with being shackled to the C5 and leave corp/move back to k-space or a lower class WH even PVP in capital class WHs requires in the region of 7 people unless your proficent at nano.

On the invasion/getting evicted front unless you do something daft like smack talk the wrong people in local or constantly hide in POS when you have enough people logged in to put up a fight its not that likely to happen - even if its just throwing some drakes and basi/scimis in there it keeps people interested. Its one way that w-space is quite different to null no one really has massive lists of blues, lots of corps will work together when theres a common interest then go back to shooting each other the next day and no ones really interested in seeing WH space empty of activity its mostly the dead wood that gets weeded out.

confirming that C5 peeps like to shoot things that are not Sleepers. C5 space is kind of like your favorite bar. You can brawl with someone and then buy them a beer afterwards. We launched into C5 space in March of this year, and it has been great. Lots of isk to buy shiny ships that then seem to always get blown up by Aquila or AHarm.

Ye, people who fight are always welcome.

Lots of c5's are empty, you will probably be defended for long time by obscurity alone.

Cheers for all the replies;

Sounds like I expected, do what we do now with more people and we'll be fine.
