Which off the shelf laptop for Eve... hardware advice please?

My current Acer laptop, a 7720 with an ATI HD 2300 card (which is terrible btw) is slowly dying. I'd like to buy another one, but given that I'm prone to impulse buying I'd like some advice before I proceed :)

For family reasons it is advisable for me to play on a laptop, even though I know a desktop would be better. But still, if you'd have to play Eve on a laptop, which off the shelf model would you buy? And why?

Particularly I am interested in GPU advice.. I am determined to stay away from ATI as far as I can, but I am open to opinions :)

well i ahd a beast of a desk top i built myself, unfortunatly we moved and i had no real wife friendly area that i could park my rig, so it had to go. i replaced it with an alienware m17x laptop and never looked back. play eve in any room in the house, i went for alienware because i wanted one.
