Bounties simple solution

The main problem with bounties today is that when a pirate has bounty big enough, he can just use his alt to pod himself and collect the bounty.

A simple solution to that problem would be to add 2x bounty to the cost of the pirate's new clone cost.

Example:

Pirate has 100mil bounty and gets podded. The guy who podded him gets 100mil, the pirate needs a new clone that costs 200mil + usual clone cost.

Regards.

Somehow, no, but i agree the bounty needs to fit.

Why not if you have a bounty of 100 mill and you got shoot with a ship value around 20 mill, the bounty hunter gets 10 mill asuming half of the loot gets gets droped.

So if I spend 100mil to put a bounty on a guy I don't like, this would actually cost him 200mil ? You clearly didn't think twice about this.

The problem is that fixing bounties would require a way of disqulifying the pirate's friends or alts from collecting the bounty. I don't how this could be done, but this is not it.

It's a little too cut-throat for even EVE.

When I sign into the game next I'm going to put a billion isk on your head and you can't get a medical clone until you pay it.

That guy would need to have made aggression to you or killed your ship obviously.

No, the real problem is that it's inherently pointless to put a bounty on someone who cannot be imprisoned or killed. The very concept of putting a bounty on a capsuleer is ridiculous.

Capsuleer! Are you specialized in combat and reconnaissance? Do you have a strong moral fiber, a love for civilization and order? Then CONCORD has the opportunity for you!

CONCORD is currently stretched thin trying to respond to the countless distress calls throughout the Empire. In order to combat the numerous criminal scum that plague our universe we are opening a mercenary division to issue bounties and coordinate bounty hunters. Any pilot who has been unlawfully attacked may buy a bounty on the criminal pilot based on the amount of economic damage sustained and the infamy of the criminal. These bounties can be redeemed by any of our contracted mercenaries in the form of CONCORD Loyalty Points. The amount of Loyalty Points awarded will be dependent on the amount of economic damage done to the criminal scum. Once the economic damage sustained by the criminal matches or exceeds the bounty level purchased by the original victim, the bounty is dropped.

Purchasers of bounties will be informed every time part or all of the bounty has been redeemed, including what the criminal lost in the distribution of justice.

Join CONCORD and bring justice to the universe!

Basically victims can buy bounties from a CONCORD faction Merc Corp. Those holding bounties become LP farms for pilots in the CONCORD merc corp. LP is then paid out in a fashion similar to FW, based on kill value on the ship/pod. If a player buys 10k worth of LP in a bounty, CONCORD mercs can harvest those LPs buy killing the pilot's ship/pod until all of the 10k LP have been paid out.

Great idea but I would just farm the **** out of this with an alt and sell 6% implants and meta 1 Cap modules all day long. Simular to the recent FW scams that people executed with much proficiency.

MMOs come and go, but Eve remains.  -Garresh-

FW has Tier 5, which is what makes it so profitable. CCP can just nerf the LP returns until it matches other ventures in eve. Maybe start at 10:1. So a bounty worth 10 million isk pays out LP worth 1 million isk.

i think all you need to make bounty hunting work is

have player need to buy a 24 hour bounty hunting licence, like you need for outposts in high sec,

which gives them the rights to kill and pod people with bounties,

then they have to scoop the corpse and return it to the bounty office to collect the reward

i can imagine a lot of people wanting to be bounty hunters

also people with certificates should show up with a symbol next to their name in local, to give the ppl with bounties a chance
