From a user standpoint, IE9 isn't half bad.

As a developer, when you find yourself having to constantly check to see if your sites that look exactly the same in Firefox, Chrome, and Safari still look the way they're supposed to in IE6, 7, 8, and 9 (because IE users for some unknown F'ing reason find it distasteful to upgrade their 10 year old web browsers), you start to generate a lot of negative feelings over it.

For me, it's not so much hate for IE9... it's hatred for the mess that I have to constantly clean up being forced to dedicate time specifically geared towards making stuff work in 6 - 8, which again, wouldn't be a problem if IE users upgraded their god damn software at least a couple times a decade.

I actually dig Microsoft (except for their abortions that they call web browsers).




Exactly. That's why my company started to charge extra if the client wants his website to look the same on Jurassic versions of IE.

This is the only way to do business these days. I only guarantee latest versions of Firefox, Chrome, Safari and IE. If you want me to verify in older versions I will charge extra based off the browser and version. IE6 is the most pricey one because that thing is just horrendous.

Just received the emergency update from microsoft.

Installed and restarted.
