Induced lag exploit? Or just bad programming?

It's a law of EVE: You get lag, slow-down, freezes, crashes, etc... ONLY at the worst possible times! Smile

The first time I ever lost a ship to another player, just as my structure was going below 20% the game froze. Then about 30 seconds later I see everything in a flash and then I awaken in a clone in some station. I had no idea what happened.

Normally this is never an issue, no one was near me, wasn't concerned.
Suddenly my screen goes crazy. Immense graphics lag, fps drops to nothing, can't move, attempt to target station and warp/cloak, and find i'm already tackled. This was only 15-20 secs after jumping gate, no ship near me, this went on, until I was dead, attempted to get my pod out, same issue.
So CCP, are you really this bad at programming? Or are you simply going to ignore this issue until the game fails due to people getting tired of losing ships for no good reason?

The cost of the ship and the implants really isn't the issue here, it's losing them due to either an exploit, or some of the worst programming ever. As it is, a don't play the game much anymore, but this has me seriously considering not renewing my accounts at all.

And yes, I have already petitioned this, but I'm sure I will get the canned response, the logs show nothing, or it's not our fault. Roll

Here's a picture of the halarious graphics glitch....which cleared up as soon as I was back in station.

Check your video card. I had a 9800GT that did similar stuff just before it died.

I have a crap computer

Windows XP Champion!
Intel Pentium 4 Dual core @ 3.0ghz
2 gig ram
gtx560 (only good thing about my comp, and only just installed yesterday, before was AMD HD 4670)

I run 2 client, usually with little problem. I only run into lag issues when there is 200+ on grid.

FC, what do?

When I used to play Ultima Online people with ADSL connections moved faster in game than those with 56k modems.

I didn't complain even though it put me and others at a disadvantage. I died a lot, I got ADSL and I died less.

Upgrade your equipment so you don't die as much.

Thanks, been there done that. It was on my new (3 month old) laptop with an M660 card, I don't think I need to upgrade just yet....Lol
It runs 2 or more clients at HD and max settings with no issues at all, even in fleet fights, so I have a hard time attributing this to my hardware.

Now that I think about it, the graphics glich/lag was very similar to the lag created by bubbles a few months back, but since this was lowsec, clearly that was not the issue.

Considering I really haven't played much in the last couple months, other than occasionally circling a button to make LP in one of CCP's dumbest updates ever, I can't say.
Just seemed questionable that I could run up and down the main highsec ganking pipe, picking up stuff that I haven't touched in years, with lots of wannna be gankers sitting on gates, and this only happened when I jumped into a lowsec camp of a whole 8 people.

Your insurance paid out before your GFX even caught up. That tells me your connection with servers was fine.

And when I went to school, dragging down a server was the only way lag could be "induced" on a remote client.

Nice theory but I'd get your rig fixed first.
