Darius III.

They are all incredibly useless oxygen sinks and are a detriment to the integrity of the CSM. Instead of doing their jobs and trying to make the game better for us, they decide to make a hamfisted grab at vote rigging for their own benefit. ( https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1895780#post1895780 ) They must be removed and replaced immediately.

Similar to the last election instead of having an external website poll, just like this post if you agree.

E: Fixed the name.

You'll have your chance to vote for someone else at the next election, these people well at least Darius were voted for on the premise that he would probably do feck all.

If you don't like what they are or are not doing vote them off at the next CSM election

Be a colossal turd.

Oh that must be code for "Try to make minorities into Minorities"

It is amazing what the idea of Voting reform does to a minority like Goonswarm.

Shouldn't be that hard to out-vote us then. Oh wait, we're the only ones who care about the CSM elections. Oops. Guess we're a majority of the voting populace then.

If you're the only ones who care and vote for the CSM why do we have it in the first place?

So CCP can deflect blame. Remember why the CSM was originally instated?

Yes and you're point being? Just because it was needed then doesn't mean it's needed now.

My'ne point was to answer your question. Which was "Why do we have the CSM?", not "Wouldn't it be better to abolish the CSM?".
Plus CCP still makes enough ****** decisions on its own that continuing to have the CSM as a firewall probably suits them quite well.

I think Darius was voted on to the CSM by people who were either apathetic, griefers or because they knew he wasn't going to do anything so why do we need a re-vote because one or more of the CSM are actually filling theirs pre-election pledges better than anyone else is?

We don't need a re-vote. I know it's easy to just look at the corp tag, but the rumors of all of Goonwaffe being a big hive mind are unfortunately untrue.

While a recall at this point would be unprecedented, impractical and thoroughly entertaining, I do believe some formal censure is appropriate for the attempt at vote rigging. Certainly a censure for the act itself is appropriate; but I am of the mind that the censure should be for the sheer stupidity behind arguments made to push it as a working paper. That's right I want CSM to be held accountable for being dumb. Not just dumb like in a sack of hammers dumb, I mean "Let's make a Matrix MMO" dumb. I forget who did run the MMO by the way, it doesn't matter who ever it isn't involved with EVE. What matters is someone actually thought the argument of "voter enfranchisement" by way of "voting controls and vote valuing under an undisclosed new system" was some how going to fly smoothly. Whether or not you agree with changing the voting system is not the point, the point is the kind of logic that was used itself to green light even the discussion as anything other than a bad April Fools joke.

I don't care what part of space you come from, what style you like to play, you don't deserve to be talked down to by a confederacy of dunces. When certain CSM members think they are clever clearly bad things happen, how much time is now going to be wasted arguing about a bad idea? How much of this time could have gone towards fixing game play mechanics or driving new content? How many of you wonder how the hell someone could get on the CSM while lacking the basic understanding of democratic representation, or for that matter willing to ignore their understanding of it?

Now this has all been done in the name of getting players to care. Well what has this CSM done to make the players of EVE care about anything, or be excited about the work the CSM is doing? You want people to vote either make it mandatory or give them a reason too. Preferably you want them actively engaged because having the pulse of the player base means content everyone can embrace, but when you have a couple of CSM members thinking they are clever about rigging votes everyone is going to look at the CSM as a joke. A bad joke because I haven't heard anyone laugh yet.

Uhm, not all CSM go to the summit.

I guess I could have taken a week off of work (unpaid) and then flown myself out to Iceland but then it wouldn't be clear that I could join the meetings.

But sure, I totally support a recall election.... Can't wait to see how that goes...

So since I learned that CCP has pretty major plans to address what I ran for and there is ZERO chance to change CCP's plans to do more for the folks that elected me I would love to know what you want me to be doing that I'm not doing now?
