New WH dweler - need advice on Industry

Hello,

I just joined a newb friendly WH corp - we live in a Clas 4 WH with a static C3

The WH has 9 planets:

- Barren
- Oceanic
- Storm
- Gas
- Ice

I am told that we don't have materials to be self-sufficient in POS fuels.

Anyways, I want to get into Planetary Interaction (PI), just bought all the skill books, estimate about two week's training required to get going.

Based on my WH's planets, can you give a newb PI'er advice on how to proceed? What to do first? Goals?

I have done research on PI but it can be confusing.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My research seems to point to "Gel - Matrix Biopaste" as the best product to produce, but I can't seem to figure out what is best way to go about getting that production set up?

I am also interested in WH etiquette wrt PI - I dont upset older members by setting up PIs on their planets, etc.

I have asked around and havent bumped into any one that does PI...yet.

I am not even sure how to scan the planets for existing PIs?

Each planet does have a corp custom's office, not sure if that is norm or reflects previous/current PI activity?

WRT PI etiquette, assuming that I get PI going, how much do I give the Corp?

Thanks in advance

Plug in your Jsystem into this site and it can tell you what you can produce.

I used the UNI wiki PI guide when I first learned to do PI. Had all the info I needed.

edit: I am no PI expert and just do it to pass sometime between pew, so I'm sure some more people can give you more direct answers. Hope this helps some.

It does seem like you dont. Try the programs mentioned above.

Any one telling you what has the greatest value to produce would basically devalue his own production.
Considerations is isk/hour or isk/m3. Make your own spreadsheet.

You should really talk with your corp regarding this. It is very very different from corp to corp.

A good blogger for Wormhole indy stuff and the link is part one of two for PI.

Be warned, he does it with one character and is highly trained. You will either need to invest more time or use another alt.

Good luck......... I'll be hunting for you Blink

my advice is to combine production with other members of your corp to make even more profit

Additional things to consider:

1. How much time you want to spend on PI? Optimizing PI is much more than simply ISK / hour.

2. Do you have the capacity to haul around your PI materials between planets and to market?

3. How much space in the corp hangar are you allowed to consume with PI stuff?

We have to import an item or two in order to make our PI work, but all that takes is one really solid hauler trip from jita every week or so.

Since you're only missing a Lava planet for Consumer Electronics for Robotics and Enriched Uranium, you should be able to produce everything else for your fuel.

- Mechanical Parts (Barren)
- Oxygen (Gas)
- Coolant (Gas)

Unfortunately you're missing the more expensive parts; if you can find a nice centrally located Lava planet in low-sec that you can visit once a week or so you might be able to make enough consumer electronics to make robotics; Enriched Uranium is usually fairly cheap.
