Hi MD,

I have been lurking around the MD forums for a while, building up my knowledge around trading and how bonds work. The more i have traded, the more i realised that it takes ISK to earn ISK, so here i am offering my first trading bond.

The bond will run over three months, returning an interest rate of 8% per month. When the period ends and the trading hopefully has been succesful, i will contact the investors and if they are interested the bond can be prolonged or they can get the original bond investment paid out. If it is of any interest, i am currently sitting on 200m in reserves, so if the bond is fully invested in it would leave me with 1.2b to use for trading.

Example of investment payout:
Invested: 500m
Payout every month: 40m
Total payout after three months: 120m + 500m (originally invested).

What do you think? Decent offer or not? Feedback is very appreciated Smile

Interest rate is likely to be considered too low for an uncollaterised bond, from a new face. If you are trading successfully you should be able to make 4% in a couple of days. People expect high risk no collateral loans for trading purposes to carry a good rate because you can afford it and it makes it worth their risk.

Suggest stating that it is uncollateralised and you have no way of doing so (if thats the case) so you dont have to deal with the 'have you got collateral' queries.

It would be useful for people to understand how you got to your NAV of 200m (did you have 10 bil and blow it all or are you a new player who started with the new char ISK and built it up trading?).

In terms of a structure to the offer, you might want to consider setting a min/max on investment so you dont have to deal with a 1000 lenders of 1m.

Thanks!

NAV came from some mission running and using that ISK for trading and as i am a new player i have no way of offering collateral. A decent min. investement would be 100m, as it keeps it easier and more "clean".

Okay, i see that 4% is a bit low, what would a decent interest rate be for a starting trader, giving that the bond is filled?

Generally between 8% and 15% is the norm for non established borrowers on trading bonds.

You might also want to explain:

1. If you have approached your corp / alliance and why you cant borrow from them (ie people who know you)

2. Why your character is over a year old but you claim you are a new player (and only have 200m)

I see, that should be possible the fulfill Lol

To the questions, the corp does not know me enough to want to lend 1b yet. This account has been offline a while (started playing a year ago, ran into RL problems - quit - and came back after a while).

Again, thanks for all the feedback!

Do you have anything that can be used as collateral? Such as ships, minerals, loot, friends assets, etc/

No that is the problem, as Magnu pointed out. I will offer an increased interest rate instead, if anyone is interested.

Frisky strikes again.

1b, can send tonight, I just want clarification on interest rates (update the info on the original posting) and the limited API (can expire at the end of the term) to monitor progress.

I would say only what you're comfortable releasing. At the same time, though, I would also say the more visibility the better. I'm not looking to steal whatever business you're running, I just want to make sure that movement is happening, that it's not stagnating, and that things are going well.

If the outcome exceeds the projected gains, all the better. I can use that info to validate future claims for you and post in confidence that it is a good investment to consider for future bonds, etc.

Dupe: is short for "duplicate".

Dupe: Someone who is deceived by another and acts in their interest without realization
Dupe: The practice of exploiting a bug in a video game to illegitimately create duplicates of unique items or currency

TraderoutofDupe; I know nothing of your intentions but so far the track record for people with bad, ripped, scammed, dupe etc. in their name, is not that good here in MD.

Also are you Danish? (Asking because of the corporation name)

I get what the word "dupe" means, and thus i am lacking it ("out of").

And perhaps, but that shouldn't really have anything to do with investments Shocked

Didn't mean to insinuate anything.

And you are right, I was just curious.
