Can CCP Foil the Mining Bots by simply enabling it legitmately?

A better solution is to have PvE that doesn't reward bot-like behaviour

Like letting those who know how this game should be played shoot other players in hisec without getting Concordonkened?

I'm sorry but I'm not sure what you're getting at here. I was referring to the extreme predictability and monotony of EVE's current PvE, meaning that not only is it highly suited to botting, but that it rewards players for acting as much like bots themselves as possible. If mining, missioning, ratting, etc, was unpredictable and rewarded good spatialisation, pattern-recognition and imaginative skills, not only would it be vastly more difficult to bot efficiently, people might actually enjoy the activities for their own sake and have a correspondingly reduced incentive to bot in the first place.

What was it that you were referring to, exactly?

james 315 pages of tosh, I am beginning to think that you may, in fact, be a bot, programmed with a short loop to talk about miners, miners, and err, miners.

This is not a signature.

Actully, ive made plenty of trips into low and nul sec (unlike james who hides in high sec), and there is just as many botters in both low and null. The reason they exist is far fewer people see them botting, and thus they get reported even less then high sec botters.
Also most people have the mentality that if you find someone mining in low or nul sec, he is not alone, but has buddies who are cloaked and hidding nearby ready to help him. Most who could attack said miner instead simply pass through the system and leave the bot alone.

No.

You need to have a "Effort -> isk" conversion to make any game work, making a botminer module would remove the effort part and allow you to have income out of nowhere with no effort. Thus the value of minerals would be close to nothing.

If CCP touches mining it will be to nerf it, they don't know how to make changes without destroying years worth of SP investment.

Now with 100% less Troll.

Apparently you are not familiar with RA/LoD/Solar and their null space back in the day. Trust me, there is plenty of botting going on in null.

What is this trolling you speak of? It was a reasonable post after all. Just sharing something I was thinking about off and on over the past few days.

Post with your main, like a BOSS!

And no, i don't live in highsec.  As if that would make your opinion any less wrong.

I would guess that bots handle mining in lowsec and nullsec much better than players, presuming they are programmed correctly. Bots never get tired of checking local, never get bored of spamming dscan and never make mistakes.

Sort of like BACON but a lot worse.

Its a completely sane suggestion - it would just be built into the client. Easy.

It is literally never gonna happen though because the same people that think the status quo regarding the prohibition of drugs it ok will be in your thread telling you why this is a bad idea.

nevermind, go blow something up :)

All this rage and tears against mining is so silly. Minerals are worthless until someone makes something with them! So why worry that someone is mining? Its the builders you have to watch! And those people that lose ships, well they enable the builders.
