I will grant that maybe this freighter was on the return-leg of the trip and had already dumped his freight in Jita while picking up PLEX to bring back to the old homestead....but that just illustrates the folly of carrying this kind of cargo around in a freighter. For one, it's a stupid waste of a freighter's hold capacity. For another, it probably would have been safer (and much cheaper) to just send the PLEX back home in a shuttle or fast frigate. And finally, if you are going to run your hilariously-loaded freighter through a red-hot ganking system, then for the love of DEITY, send a scout ahead and take the long way home if things look unwholesome.

Lazy and stupid is no way to go through life, son.

It's sort of similar. Good money to be made as well. Until, you know, freighters get 10x their EHP since highsec non-consensual "pvp" isn't supposed to be a thing.

Why move plex at all? If you're picking up for corpies, contract them to your corp mates, they accept the contract and can activate the plex from anywhere in the universe through the assets window.

The only reasons I can think of for moving plex are to provide comedy killmails and shiggles.

I've often wondered the same thing. A PLEX is like a gold bar: it's a valuable asset that has no useful purpose in your day-to-day life. I've bought a few and never even moved them out of the station I bought them in. When prices go up, I just sell it via contracts and let the buyer worry about moving it.

You move PLEX to sell them at a different location for ISK. The price is not uniform across New Eden.

I once saw a guy walking out of the trader's market in Jita with 10 PLEX. He was flaunting his good fortune in front of all of us and I guess some people didn't take kindly to his smug attitude. The next day I read that he was mugged and beaten to death.

sigh...honestly theres no excuse I buy plex, plex stays in station till needed cause if you think nobody's watching you'd be wrong and only get away with antics like that because you get lucky someone was sleeping at the wheel. Straight
