since the test servers are significantly behind production in mirroring, and i just trained the skills very recently i had skills training on sisi for me to test some ships... now sisi is locked.

could you be so kind as to toss me enough skill points on buckingham to get all amarr and caldari T3 skills (ship and subsystems) to IV or V?

Tedium and difficulty are not the same thing, if you don't realize this then STFU about game design.

To be honest, I'm not sure why there isn't an ingame command for SP or just a way to set your skills. It's a test server after all, why should you have to train your character on production and test servers at the same time? Perhaps without the training limitations, they'd get more people testing.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

yeah they should just automatically give you 2 or 3 million SP allocatable pool every time they do a mirror.

Know what would be a really good idea? If CCP gave you 2m free SP for attending events they hold, and gave you them back at the beginning of each mirror....

1.Take a day off/call in sick
2. Attend event
3. ???

Or

1. Quit job/move to different country
2. Attend event
3. ???

Or my personal favorite:

1. Stop complaining
2. Play at work
3.???

You won't die if you can't test tonight for 2 hours.

Have you ever thought that maybe there are several people who all had plans to get on and test on the weekend and had this planned for awhile? Did you have the foresight to realise that people have lives/families/jobs as well and getting folks from several time zones on at one time for their own testing may actually already have strained plans they had in the real world?

To the wonderful gentlaman above telling folks to call in sick etc that is exactly the worst thing someone could do...call out sick for testing are you ********...YOU SAVE SICK DAYS FOR SIEGE DEFENSE :) But really...no.

Let's all take a deep breath and realise a few things

1. Test servers get updated. It can take time. We need to do this and we do not guarantee test server uptime
2. Yes it is regrettable that mass tests are run at inconvenient times for certain time zones. Unfortunately we as developers are based it UTC, so they will be run at times convenient for us
3. Mirroring is something I'm getting tired of debating, but the long and short of it is - we do it when we need to, and occasionally to be nice, but stop asking for them because we have never done one due to being asked. It is a non-trivial process that takes up a lot of space.
4. Skillpoints on the test server are earned by training, or attending masstests. There is no plan for this to change right now - if we revise this in the future, you'll be updated.

a database trigger could be put in that syncs changes to the skill queue on tranq to sisi in real time, that would solve much of the player annoyance with old mirrors.

and i know why your mass tests are timed the way they are - wasn't really complaining about that. was pointing it out to other players that it excludes US TZ (especially west coast)

I'm still of the opinion that training on the test Server should be dramatically faster.

The Bulk Skill point award for attending Mass Tests is fine, but as has been pointed out many times... the majority of the US (who can afford to pay a sub to play on a test server ;) ) are usually at work. - You'd get better attendence if you scheduled 2 a month later in the day. and maybe 1 on a weekend.

Secondly, why not accelerate the skill learning by making them all x0.25 - I don't know exactly why CCP feels that would create a less welcoming environment for potential testers.

Other solutions could include: account bound Test server AU-type currency to buy +5 +10 +15 +20 Stat implants that could be earned by testing / completing other elements of the game - like the newbie career missions, the sisters of Eve missions. Faction Warfare, heck even PI Supply chains, COSMOS missions, Mission Running, Defined PVP scenarios etc etc.

Just testing stability for Blobby Pew Pew seems to be a narrow vision and a waste of potential testers.

I know there's a die-hard cardre of dedicated testers who have been on SiSi for years, and they should be recognized and rewarded for all their work - but CCP really needs to look again at how they are going to attract new blood to the test server.

The majority of people on the test servers arent doing any testing for CCP at all

They are just getting their fix of risk free iskless blob pvp at combat zone 2

mirrors happen when they happen and skills train like normal

deal with it

Something like this? https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=117500&find=unread

We're working towards it, but it's non-trivial and needs piloted.
