How to counter the goon suicides

They are always doing it in same systems,

get yourselve and alt

wait untill they suicide

pop the wreck

convo them, tell them you want xxx amount of isk per freighter or xx amount of loot

profit!!


problem fixed

or just skip the ransomming part to just grief them

Actually, your "loot" gets flagged too. I once popped a can full of ore while solo flipping in a frig after the irate miner came and flipped it back in a BS. Learned German for "Little bastard" that day.

Pretty sure the freighter wreck would still belong to the pilot and you shooting it would get you concorded.

Except, you don't get CONCORDed for popping their wreck. You get flagged for aggression against the owner of the wreck and his corp, but CONCORD doesn't care.

You get concorded for shooting for shooting cans and wrecks (if they belong to someone else ofc).

Pop the wreck, cloak up, lol HARD in local.

EDIT: Even if you get concorded, it doesn't take much to pop a wreck, even a disposable ship like a t1 frig could do it. Although I wouldn't put a cloak on it then.

That could actually work, considering the GOON gankers are self supported. They got some start up capital, but are expected to make enough profit off the ganks to keep themselves going. There are certainly enough traders, dumb enough to haul profitable loads in and around Jita that they have no problem covering their ship and fitting costs. If some one was to counter gank them by popping wrecks with noob ships before they could loot they would run out of isk before long.

Especially if they are using teir 3 BC's to Gank freighters. They will not want to waste the gank ship popping a worthless noob ship.

Not to bust up the GOONS fun or anything, but this is one anti gank tactic that actually might work.

The best way to get back at the GOONS is to hit them in the pocket book. Fighting back or even just putting up a good fight will only encourage them. After all PVP of any type is what they want, why else would they be ganking in the first place. Hitting them in the pocket book without giving them any action to go along with the loss, sounds like a possible way to discourage them.

Nice troll thread. Your solution is ****, as looting is faster than popping a wreck. Just steal the loot from under their noses instead.

Popping a wreck that is not yours does call CONCORD. We recently had a case where a corp member used an out of corp alt to clear a belt of rats. He then had the alt set the wrecks blue. He went to his in-corp pilots, orca and barges. He decided the wrecks needed to be cleaned up. Launched drones from the Orca and attacked a wreck. He got a warning that he clicked through, figuring it must be inconsequential as the wrecks were blue. CONCORD destroyed the Orca. A check with CCP came back "working as intended".

But this still sounds like an excellent idea. Shoot the freighter wrecks before they get looted, just with a ship you do not care about. Also, do it with an out of corp pilot so you do not have to worry about a war dec in retaliation (unless you want a war dec.)
