That's one option. The other is to pay the security deposit then get it back after a week or so assuming you didn't try to shoot blues or anything.

moving to their space is an expensive prospect.. not to mention the down side of all the doors that will slam on your butt once you ever join the goons. So what you do is tell them you need a 250 million isk loan which you will double and return upon your being accepted into a goon corp.

If it was just the 500M isks to join, even when you dodn't get it back....... I wouldn't have a problem with it. It is good for the corp and you will eliminate people who are not active. The 300M extra for the replacement program.....still fair. Cause even BPO's etc need to be bought. Scamming people to join and take their isks.....sucks, but also part of the game.

There is just one thing I don't like..... not admit that you did scam someone. Even in a chat or in local. And since I payed 500+300M isks....... didnt get in, got blocked when I ask about it, weirdo's on the forum that say "Oooo my special friend, its all a big fck up......so sollie !" and of course dont reply to any eve mails/conv's....... there is only one thing to say :

Don't get me wrong. I have nothing against Goonscam/Goonwaffle "practices", for any number of reasons. Call it a version of Darwinism; "A fool and his money..."; Buyer (or depositor) beware; or whatever. I just thought this stuff was pretty common knowledge. I was only in-game a few days before learning this stuff from posts on the forums (or other places on the intrawebz), as well as people in-game.

I guess not everyone actually seeks information before making in-game decisions as important as what corp you attempt to join.

I had to pay 600 mil security deposit when i joined TEST so 500 mil is a bargain and you get it back after a month anyway.

And I actually share the same feelings towards GS as this fellow, I also think GS has added (much needed) excitement into high sec - I'm loving watching as the story unfolds.

Just don't expect me to fall for the scams...

Seriously though, this is a game. People play it to have fun (or at least I hope they do). Goonswarm members do what they find fun. I do what I consider fun. The two aren't the same, therefore I won't try to join Goonswarm, and they wouldn't have me if I applied. No hard feelings either way. And if I do get scammed out of some ISK someday, I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. While I wouldn't find it as fun as losing in PVP, I'd probably find it almost as funny.
