Do I go for perma-tank or max burst?
Which has worked best for you?
Mid-slots include T2 boost amp, T2 invul, and two T2 rat specific hardeners. No shield rigs.

I'd use a deadspace med shield booster or a faction large, depending on what you wanna do. I know for fact that faction large works fine. (So does T2)

gist xtype xl is generally a safe bet.

i've switched to a gist a-type small and XL ancillary for burst tank. so far it works out pretty well.

I should buy an Ishtar.

Pithum-C MSB allows me to perma-tank and run missions while being cap stable with the tractor and salvagers off (or 13m with them on) in Minmatar space. I don't do Smash the Supplier and AE Bonus room though.

IIRC, pulsing a LSB II works well.

Basically gank is tank.

That's borderline original so I'll have to condone of this idea xD Any deadspace med booster will do you good though, along with small ones they provide the best boost to cap usage ratio. Personally I'd no doubt end up with a medium A-Type Gist or Pith but that's up to each person whether they want to risk beeing gank bait.

This is my current fit. I do have "gank is tank" in mind. Although I add a hardener instead of the extra 4 km of falloff a second scripted TC would provide. At least that's based on EFT.
This fit works well on the field, except a close call with the Angel Ex. Bonus Room. Had to warp out once to replenish shields. I want to be able to do the bonus room without having to warp out. My dps went up since the last time, but I'm curious about pimping the booster.
Problem would be that I'm in a crowded system, so the gank bait aspect keeps me on the fence about it.

Edit: Don't mind the mismatched ammo/hardener type. I know better.

tbh that's all you need. for the more challenging missions just take off the TC and put an injector in it's place. that'll buy you more time to take out the dps.

No cap used (ever) and you have more than enough cargospace to last for a while. Single ASB gives you just short of a 2k dps tank. 1124dps with hail, 876 with cheap EMP. Just pulse a single one of the ASB's when needed. For lvl 4's, you can buff it by switching those passive hardeners for active ones. Adding crystals/OGB makes the tank numbers really ridiculous, but that really isn't necessary (but if you want to know, for giggles it is 6377 sansha tank with both for a single ASB, and 12661dps burst tank for running both.

Hmm...getting the Crystal set might be enough alone to make the difference I need.

But then again, after fiddling with EFT, I can perma-run a Pithum A-Type Med Booster. Would that be enough for AE's bonus room?

That depends on how fast your ship is, and how much firepower you got to lower the incoming dps in the beginning of this room. Good range also doesn't hurt - you want to get them missile turrets first. It's not just a question of eft ;-)

I imagine a DG large booster would work perfectly fine. Did well enough for my sleipnir and maelstrom.

Big problem about large boosters is you can't permarun them. Not being able to permarun means if you get disconnected you might actually get killed by it.
