Why Eve-Mon = Fail

If anybody has had this problem before, they know it can be frustrating.

I set my 2 characters to train Gallente Carrier V, and Amarr Dreadnaught V. That was over a month ago.

I open Eve-Mon to check on the progress of my characters once every week.

Every time, Eve-Mon does its update and fetches information from my API, and tells me my characters are in-training.

So Today, according to Eve-Mon, my first character only has 18 hours left to go until Carrier V, and my second character only has 2 days left to go.

However, I learned this is not the case when I tried to log into the game today.

My 2 accounts became inactive 2 weeks ago, because for some reason the recurring subscription stopped by themselves, and therefore the training stopped. And all this time, Eve-Mon has been telling me that my accounts are still in training.....

Don't get me wrong I'm not raging or QQ'ing, I'm just frustrated. While Eve-Mon is a good program, and it sure is convenient - in this aspect it fails. Just trying to bring this to the attention of Eve-Mon Developers.

Ah, EVE Mon. Back in the days when I trained skills, this was a very helpful planning tool, and also quite useful for being alerted when skills were set to expire while not logged in.

Before the skill queue was introduced, EVE Mon was a must! For those who joined after the skill queue was created, you have no idea how important it was. Smile

And CCP didn't send any mail of the upcoming situation for any account?

I would guess that you missed some message from the API server telling evemon that the characters are inactive... or Evemon really is fail and didn't mention it at all.

EveHQ does mention it.. I prefer it a lot over evemon and eft.

Many people have separate emails. 1 for gaming, 1 for work, and 1 for other stuff, etc.

I personally don't check my gaming email very often.

Also, isn't the whole purpose of Eve-Mon...to monitor your characters, and tell you their training status?

my evemon installation warns me when my subscription is about to run out...

have you checked that the API key you gave EVEMon actually includes the AccountStatus page?

Nothing more to say here.

I'll do it anyway: OP is a moron and don't know how to play eve offline.

You lost 2 weeks training time, is that all?

Man up, move on.

Here's your real problem, nothing to do with Evemon responsibility. If you have add full APIs for your characters, Evemon warns you flashy yellow your account expiration every time you log in and from 6 to day 0.

Stop being silly.

Also verify that
* Tools -> Options -> Updates -> Account Status is checked.
* Tools -> Options -> Notifications -> 'Account Expiration' and 'Account is not Training', etc. are checked (i.e. 'Repeat until clicked').

Agree with OP. I mean, for what you have to pay for it you really should be able to expect better service.

I'm sorry your FREE tool didn't have everything you wanted. Did you submit a bug report to the developer? This really isn't the place. So you lost out on 2 weeks of training because you're unaware of what was happening with your finances. You failed to notice your balance didn't change?

My EVEMon bugs me all week when my account is about to run out. Soon as I hit 6 days 23 hours 59 minutes 59 seconds it starts crying about how I'll never play again.

And then I hit 00:00 time left, my account renews, and the whining stops for another year.

1. OP fails, and blames a third party for his fail.
2. What app did you personally builds and use that is better than EveMon for this?

Do believe that EveHQ isn't going to be supported anymore, unless that's changed, so you might have to switch again.

So somehow it's EVEmon's fault that you forgot to sub your accounts. Well done.

I am saddened to hear that your accounts expired and your skills did not complete as you had planned. Please reactivate as soon as possible so that CCP can continue your skill training!

Not sure if that was intentional sarcasm.
