Pilots who do not dare, or have never beenShocked in Low sec or null should have an try out day 24H once a year when every solar system in in EVE is set to 1.0 in theory Pirate My daughter thought this could be a nice idea (yes she plays EVE) Big smile. Is it a good idea? Any thoughts?

A lot of other people think it should be the opposite way around.

I could see a big yearly event in which experienced players and FCs take carebears and newbies alike into low or null sec to roam around and fight other fleets of carebears and newbies led by experienced players as well as exploring other aspects of 0.0 life, even PvE ones.

Maybe getting a big alliance to sacrifice a supercap for the event so all those players can experience that and get the killmail.

But actually having CCP turning the system's sec status to 1.0 wouldn't be a good idea simply because in that case all those players wouldn't be visiting low or null sec. They'd be visiting high-sec systems with different names, which would kinda defeat the purpose of the entire thing.

I can allready hear the tiers from 0.0 alliances since they would loose sov and benefits it brings. Theres no claimable 1,0 space in eve P Not to mention all those technetium moons suddely turning unmineable :P

CVA should still be NRDS. So if you want to "tryout" null go there. Changing the systems sec status to 1.0 kind of defeats the purpose of trying out 0.0.

I think the universe should be 10 times bigger, it will allow for people to want to try it out since there would be a fair chance you can actualy get established.

But I might be reasoning to much from my pov.
Since I do not think paying rent to already established entities is very attractive (acts as carrot) and underlines the thought many have about EvE and leave it for what it is. Even though they find the concept very appealing.
The thought being, you can never catch up or be one of the "warlords"...

I really think it is that simple.

Some people I know quit because they think getting into nul - sec is a bit like this

Once you think you have it all, you have actually become ignorant towards everything else.

I don't like the idea because I dislike anything that breaks immersion in games, this game in particular (due to its believable and realistic universe).

If you could come up with a reasonable explanation for why the whole universe would suddenly become super safe for 24 hours, I might be a little more open to the idea but I could only imagine you'd come up with some crappy explanations for such an event so it's probably best not to bother.

Also what happens to all the carebears still stuck in null-sec when the time is up on the event?

Actually not a bad idea, it already exists in a small form, RvB Ganked events are open to anybody and roam all over the place with the sole purpose of killing as much as possible before dying in glorious explosions somewhere in null, they have guest FC's and a NPSI policy. An event like it backed by a ludicrously space rich entity may encourage hisec players to actually venture out of their safety net & discover that Eve is not just about shooting NPCs and making ISK.

Any carebears stuck in null at the end of such an event can take the Pod express home, if they've managed to survive that long Twisted

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

I think CONCORD should go on strike for 24hrs... or have to go deal with something else, an incursion or the Jove...

So for a period of time CONCORD won't turn up, same sec status hit... just not blown up...

Might encourage some more pew pew...

I have no idea why you believe that's a good idea,
except of course because you're ignorant about everybody else around you.

I'd support this if only for the epic amounts of tears that would be poured by carebears.

Don't bother trying to set up someone else to take the blame for this. You see ...

I fail to see how this would help. The best part of nullsec is that there's no concord, why ruin that while giving a tour? I think the better idea is Live Events to entice people into low/null. For example, the CCP dev fleet, and Chribba station defense both got many people out of highsec for their first time.

Because somehow flying in VFK is magical.

Also, make sure to fly though EC- and get ganked and podded.

I have an idea - let's have a day where chocolate ice cream tastes exactly like vanilla. Then everyone can try chocolate ice cream and see if they like the flavor.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.
