Every society has its own way of doing things, its own distinctiveness, but none in the history of mankind has been so invasive, so infectious, so innately arrogant and self-righteous as the Gallente. The Gallente people are self-serving and narrow of vision. They have a nation-wide superiority complex that is reflected in their foreign policy. The Gallente have the audacity and closed-mindedness to think their way of doing things is best for everyone. They treat every other culture as inferior, especially their little pet republic! The great beacon of light, the Minmatar Republic, a shining example of how NOT to run a society, an incarnation of every one of their failed ideas. We must stand up to the nefarious and distracting influence of the Gallente, with their holo reels and sports designed to pull you away from your daily work for the state. Reject the putrid Gallente culture! Embrace your Caldari heritage, embrace the State!

My thanks for providing the latest in polished rhetoric from Echelon Entertainment. I often miss their media feeds, but at times it's good to be reminded of the latest thoughts and analysis to come from Kaalakiota and the Patriots.

Love your enthusiasm, but what do I get out of the deal? I rather like my freedom. I rather dislike that guy Heth. I have no incentive to change, other than a rather tired and overdone request, spouted by many Caldari loyalists who frequent these communications channels.

So, what makes the Caldari way of life so great anyway?

On current evidence, it seems that despite being armed with all of that processing power, I have my doubts that you could find your buttocks with both hands unless a Provist was shouting simple instructions at you.

I'm left wondering what fool thought that the world needed another Diana Kim in it, and what other fools allowed him/her to do something about it.

The part I've always found most ironic is that the kind of people who spout this drek usually call it a "Liberal Conspiracy" or otherwise attribute it to the Liberals, when in fact the corporations principally involved in importing Gallentean entertainment and products would be NOH and CBD - both Practicals.

it's interesting to see outbursts like this, it always makes me wonder if it's real or just a political attack designed to distract people from some underhanded attempt at financial control

Only?

Egonics?
Impetus?
The Scope? (Some of their reports border on being stand up comedy)
The Leisure Group?

While I agree with what you're saying, that part of the statement was also a little closed minded, Verin. Blink

I stand corrected, and apologise for such a total failure to do my research properly. The source I used is clearly not a reliable one.

The point stands, however, that the single biggest suppliers of entertainment, sports and other luxuries in the State are, in fact, Caldari corporations.

That's quite a case of cognitive dissonance you've got there, captain. I understand that you can clear that right up with a few pints of your favorite libation, however.

I would say there is a difference in importing entertainment where it's a simple affair to cut through the bias and propaganda in the media and the importing of political ideology itself which is far more insidious and dishonest. The patriotism and loyalty of both NOH and CBD and their citizens certainly hasn't been an open question as far as I've seen.

The sayings of an old Idama contain a pearl of wisdom relevant to this thread.

"There are wise men who know little, and fools who know much. You may seek the division by examining how they value what they know."

Andreus Ixiris > A Civire without a chin is barely a Civire at all.

Pieter Tuulinen > He'd be Civirely disadvantaged, Andreus.

While i still don't agree with your choice of banner Mal, I find myself agreeing with you more often. This is almost a worry. Almost.

On an unrelated note, I can see why Mr Barstorlode moved this thread, It has nothing at all to do with water resistant outer garments.

Not indicative of corporate policy unless otherwise stated.

Even now your petty indignation stinks of arrogance. You know, while your children are learning liberal arts and how to play the flute, our youths are learning combat tactics, routine weapons maintenance, but most of all they're studying history. Your average little Caldari cadet is a regular history buff. They know why we fight this war, and they know what kind of scum the Federation breeds. Death to Gallente! End their rotten influence! May there be nothing left of them! Death to Gallente! Death to Gallente!
