Escalation from an anomaly to a DED complex

I just completed an anomaly and got a message that there was a DED complex in a nearby system.

I assume this is an escalation - is this DED site private to me, or can someone scan it down and steal it before I get there?

No one can scan it by using core probes but they can scan you down when you are doing the site by using combat probes.

No, it's like a mission deadspace pocket. You can be scanned down when in the site, though.
