Real trouble with 5/10 Guristas Hallucinogen Supply Waypoint

I've got a Guristas Hallucinogen Supply Waypoint which is causing me real headaches. The incoming dps seems to be incredibly high - I keep having to warp out. In L4 missions I am fine but this is quite a surprise to me.

My setup is a CNR, which has 80% kinetic resist and 73% thermal resist. For a Guristas profile (75% kinetic, 25% thermal) I have 693 reinforced defence and 246 sustained. My dps on paper is 503 missiles and 131 from drones. Cap lasts 3 minutes.

On pocket 2 I took out the sentry guns first, then the battlecruisers, then the battleships, but I could only last a minute or so before I had to leave. I calculated the dps coming in was around 1700!!

Am I doing something wrong?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Try doing it in a drake/tengu and your have no problem. BS is too big and as you said there is a hell amount of DPS coming in. T2 tengu can do this fine. Size does matter here, the small you are the less your get hit.

Also your fit on the CNR. You have 2 shield boost amps, you need to look at reducing the incoming damage than increasing your rep amount. The less damage incoming the less work your booster needs to do to rep it up. Guristas shoot alot of missiles which you cant stop the damamge from hitting.

Try PIth C hardeners (cheap as chips) as they give better resists than t2 and if you really struggle grab a set of lowgrab crystals (dont need the omega at all imo) but if you can afford it go for it, every little helps.

Honestly, you might be alright just by loading up on kinetic resists. Remember, Guristas might deal kin primary and therm secondary, but in their case the split is something like 85/15*. Squeezing on an AB would also help mitigate some missile damage.

If the second room is really giving you that much trouble, you need to be super careful in the last room. Yes, all you ought to do is snipe the overseer, but you have to have enough time to kill it and warp out.

Ok so here's my thoughts.

Raven = massive sig = your gonna get hit harder than if you were in a Drake.

Drake has bonuses to Kinetic missiles..

Drake has smaller sig than Raven so incoming DPS will be reduced..

DPS wont be so different, between the ships use heavy missiles..

Never compare anything to lvl4 missions because lvl4 mission give very poor DPS out compared to plexs..

Any plex above 4/10 is supposed to be a challenge. This one is very sig dependent, bs are probably not the thing to do it in (same goes for all guristas plex tbh). Its easy in a nighthawk or tengu though (assault resists plus small sig). If you really want to do it in a CNR try it with a XL booster or anc booster to burst tank while you lower the dps.

You need a better shield booster as the large booster just won't cut it. e.g. Pith B-type XL shield booster which is fairly cheap c.200mil... plus a shield boost amp and then cap induce to keep it running.

consider getting a Low grade crystal set for extra boost, also fairly cheap. Pith X-type shield booster is ideal but alot of isk to fork out. Depends on your wallet.

Make use of your tech II cruise missiles and use tech 2 ammo or faction.

Thanks for the replies.

I think the main problem was having too large a sig radius. Next time I'll try it in my Ishtar and speed tank.
