I keep hitting "Recover probes" instead of Analyze when scanning down sites

Its the most annoying thing in the world to get your probes all set and HIT THE WRONG BUTTON

they are too close together.

I'm not convinced that your lack of concentration, attention, or experience necessitates CCP making that sort of user interface change.

Most everyone who has probe scanned has hit that button, or the destroy probes button (whatever it's called), at one time or another during the learning process ... but most have adjusted and few do it more than once.

I agree that the user interface should be improved where the benefits balance or outweigh the costs. Unfortunately it is simply not possible to make a user interface that is entirely idiot-proof and we all tend to learn best by experience.

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.

I can honestly say that in several months of exploration I've never had this problem.

And I do stupid **** all the time, like shooting faction wrecks because I was mashing arties and forgot one was still pending target.

On the one hand, if you can't manage to not hit recover when you mean scan, you are indeed bad. Which isn't to say I never do it. Usually it means I need to put EVE down and do real life for awhile before my brain melts.

On the other hand, I detest bad UI. And it is most definitely bad UI to have two essentially unmarked buttons that do counterproductive things right next to each other with no real indication as to what they do besides muscle memory. Hot keys would sure as hell be nice.

Wait, can you set probing hotkeys? Maybe I should investigate before I complain too much more....

Edit: no, you can't. Please add probing hotkey options.

If the OP is playing from a laptop using touchpad, he is right ...
If you use a mouse, there shouldn't be any issues at all with those buttons but on a laptop the accuracy is not very good.
With my old laptop i had problems clicking small stuff. Actually all the right click submenus were a pain in the ass as the options were only a few pixels in height.
Lucky, now i have a macbook and the touchpad is way more responsive and accurate but yes, i understand the OP opinion.

I play from a laptop over half the time. It's not that hard.

They already have moved it once, about 1/4 of a mm...
Yeah, it should be moved properly.

How about attaching keyboard shortcuts to those buttons instead?
