EVE Constelation Research Proposal

Greetings fellow Capsuleers

My name is Samantha Franstato but as you can see I use the call sign San Fransisco. I have recently completed a 15 month teaching assistant position at the Doussivitte VI College of Applied Sciences, Archeology Department. I decided to re-activate my pilot license to follow up on what I discovered to be a severe gap in the archeological record and for the scientific community as a whole.

It is commonly speculated that the EVE gate is the location from which mankind first entered this part of the universe. Yet there is a distinct lack of data on the first steps our common ancestors took when they entered New Eden. When I first earned my pilot license I made a trip to the system named New Eden and spent some time viewing the vast anomaly of the gate itself. I was quite inexperienced so I swiftly returned to higher security space. Something that I did take note of was that, for some reason, there are no facilities within the EVE constellation. In fact the nearest space station to the EVE gate is 6 jumps away in Angur and run by Inherent Implants Biotech.

I have proposed to the college staff, and received approval for, an ongoing expedition to the EVE constellation for the purpose of locating acquiring and scientifically documenting ancient artifacts and concrete evidence of our joint history. Perhaps if our disparate cultures had something more concrete to unite us we would be able to reconcile the differences that plague us. My proposal was met with unanimous enthusiasm, unfortunately the only funding that I was able to secure was for assistance with any analysis of artifacts recovered, and for staffing of any research facilities I establish. Not to be discouraged I have formulated a plan of sorts.

The first stage of this expedition will be to transport an Orbital Deployment Mobile Command Center (ODMCC) within the atmosphere of one of the four gas giant planets in the Central Point system. My rational for this is twofold. The non-intrusive nature of a Gas ODMCC will enable the establishment of a local, relatively secure, archeological analysis laboratory without compromising any potential artifacts that may be found on the surface of other planet types in the EVE constellation. Additionally, the extracted resources from the gas giant will provide a source of funding to continue the expedition.

I am currently in the process of preparing for the expedition. In approximately 10 days I will be certified to fly a Covert Operations class Amarran Frigate. Prior to embarking, my intention is to acquire an Anathema model frigate designed by Khanid Innovation. When I have the certification and funding available I will also look to utilize one of the Pilgrim model variations of the Amarran Arbitrator. (A ship I spend most of my time flying). Eventually I would like to establish a starbase within the cluster to serve as a base of operations.

I am presenting this proposal to the community of capsuleers for two reasons.

I am offering all of you the opportunity to partake in this venture. I am accepting monetary or equipment donations, however, capital is not the most helpful resource I am in need of. I ask for any input or experience that you feel could be pertinent to the success of this expedition. Any knowledge of the local pirates, Blood Raiders or otherwise, would be of immense help while pursuing the archeological data found there.

Secondly I would like to offer membership in my corporation, Silver Falcon Survey, for any pilot interested in joining me in exploring the secrets of the EVE constellation. I realize that the life an explorer is erratic at best and there will often be times when we must work alone to pursue the secrets of the stars. If you are looking for regular companionship then I am afraid I may not be able to accommodate you. If however you are a like minded individual and hold a reverence for the lessons of the past please consider my offer.

Thank you all for listening to my research proposal and wish me luck.

Here's a collection of background reading you might find helpful:

The Eve Gate
The New Eden System
The Sisters of EVE
The Sanctuary (SoE's science arm)
Origin Theories

Being that New Eden is in Genesis Region, the local Pirate Faction is the Blood Raider Covenant. Due to low system traffic, capsuleer piracy in the area is infrequent.

(Possibly) Related Nearby Phenomena:
Promised Land Wormhole
Dead End Monolith

Related Research Projects:

Project Codebreaker (analyzing ancient technologies)

Thank you Faulx for the compilation of reference documents. You are quite correct and I need to credit the Sisters of Eve for their continued study of the EVE gate itself. I can only hope that they will eventually discover something there. My intention is to search for historical evidence in the areas not already extensively surveyed.

My hypothesis hangs on two , as of yet unproven, contingencies. The first is that the EVE Gate is in fact the single entry point of mankind into the New Eden cluster. The second relies on the presumption that just as our current existence in space is dependent on planetary resources, so to were our ancestors dependent on the same planets. Should the first settlers have arrived through the gate then the nearby planets would have been used to fuel the expansion and surely evidence of this resource harvesting will be present today.

Refining my proposal I intend to scan the planets within the EVE Constellation and analyze the current distribution of non volatile resources such as Heavy Metals, Base Metals, Noble Metals and Non-Cs Crystals. The distribution of these resources may indicate where early human settlements could have been located. Depending on the results of this survey I will then narrow my search for planet side and orbital ruins.

Hopefully I will discover something of note

I cannot divulge too much at this time, since we are in the middle of an ongoing project which I am not authorized to really speak too much about, but I can tell you some of our points of interest in this area of space...

We are very interested in the abandoned research outpost orbiting Angur's blue star, which is guarded moderately heavily by some Blood Raider vessels. We had attempted to analyze the ruins, but it looks as though it had degenerated too much for anything to be of use. We haven't given up on this yet, however, and we plan to go back if we discover some missing link that might be of use to us.

We also found other strange anomalies in this area of Genesis in our scanning, one of which was what appeared to be wreckage in Dead End of a massive structure. Structures like this in deadspace are nothing new, of course, but this one just happened to be about 1 AU away from the monolith, and had some kind of antenna or perhaps even a weapon of some sort pointing towards the monolith. There didn't seem to be any guards on this structure, but at the time Dead End had a number of pirate capsuleers in the system and we were not equipped at that time to handle them should they decide to scan us down and attack us.

This constellation and its environs is of great interest to us, and we're eager to help you find any clues. Of course, I'd have to bring it up with our lead researcher if he's willing to divulge any information about our project in-progress. He tends to be extremely paranoid about sharing any information about our efforts in fear of being "silenced" by those who feel we are working against their best interests. Clearly, seeing as the Jove is almost certainly attempting to keep us from knowing too much about this area with their supposed cloaking of "stuff" around the collapsed wormhole in New Eden, if they feel we are finding out too much, they'll find a way to thwart our efforts, either through forceful means or by passively "hiding" more stuff from us. For example in the aforementioned discovery in Dead End when we attempted to return a few days later after pirate activity ceased, we found that the massive structure was gone, and we were unable to scan it out again. We must be cautious.

Interesting aspiration and research.

I could offer security service and reconnaissance but I'm afraid I have little beyond that to offer.

Very much interesting.
As with Mr. Khross, I may be able to help with security service, reconnaissance and alike. I feel that my scientific roots and wits have long since been penalized by too much booster consumption. In any case, curiosity remains solid.

For my sake, I will be planetside for some weeks to follow. When I'm back in space, I may contact you if further interest exists.

Till then, Ms Franstato,
Good luck out there.
