Question regarding character sales and skills

I'm looking for some skill plan advice to get more isk out of this character that I eventually plan to sell on the character bazaar.

I decided to take advantage of the power of 2 offer to create a character that I will sell once the subscription time of the new account is about to end. I started by training my cybernetics skill to IV to get +4 implants, after which I made a per/will remap with the goal to get Destroyers V and Battlecruisers V (because of the future changes to the specific skills and ship classes).

I've now got Destroyers V, Battlecruisers soon to be V and all racial frigate and cruiser skills at IV to (hopefully) get all the racial destroyer and battlecruiser skills to V when the changes kick in. Having said that, now I feel a bit clueless about what I should train in order to get as much isk per lp out of this character as possible.

My first thought was to create a sleipnir character, but it takes too much time to get all the required skills to fly a command ship, let alone get all the support skills to fly one competently. Not to mention that based on the information I've been able to find on past sales, they don't sell for particularly much compared to some other characters.

So, now I'm asking if I'm better off simply training the support skills used by every race, and leaving the choice of specialization to the buyer, or if I'm better off making this a loki pilot for instance, and making the racial choice for the buyer, but at the same time make a character that is ready to be used the moment the trade is made?

I've been playing EVE on and off for a few years, so I don't really expect anyone to give me a direct answer. Having said that, I'm new to the character bazaar and I figured I might as well try to ask in case someone is feeling friendly. Any help would be appreciated!

Might be better if you posted your skills link so people can take a look?

I'm a nerd, you can check my stats!! Skilling Int/Mem at 45 sp per minute is how I mack!     I'm like a lapdog, all bark no bite.

Unfortunately I don't know how to do that. Still, I think I mentioned all the relevant skills in my first post, the character is less than 2 months old atm.

Well if that is all you have, I can tell you combat pilots are dime a dozen. And from what I read, they sell for less. Most alts are for industries/Mining/Trading.

So if you are set on training to just sell, here is what I suggest, go buy 4 60 day GTC's sell them cancel that account and move on. That will net about 3.8 billion. And be far less costly to train just for selling.

Good luck

dont cross train it.
your best bet is training a boosting toon that can fly a loki, has cyber 5 and can boost skirmish and shield.

other things that sell well are pure tengu pilots, capital ship holders and covops probers.

the rule with selling character is that the more specialized it is the better.
hence, generic combat toons are not worth training up specifically to sell.

There is no Bob.

New dev blog said the destroyer and bc skill change isn't happening anytime soon, at least not this winter. Still good skills to have. Train drone skills, navigation or other support skills. Key is having a balanced character not one missing all it's engineering or weaponry skills.

What you say about specialized characters selling better makes sense, but at the same time if I follow your first suggestion I'd either have to add several months more training time, or I'll end up with a character missing most of it's support skills. Also, if I would prolong the account subscription by 3 months and do this to get better support skills, I'd still have a fairly un-specialized character, wouldn't I? Would I then be better off trying to max most of the leaderships skills and get the bare minimum skills to pilot a loki, or what would you suggest?

Lastly, since I made the seemingly stupid decision to train destroyers V and battlecruisers V, I'd really prefer it if these skills wouldn't be a complete waste, but they really don't seem to add much of anything for a t3 pilot. Is there any way to salvage the situation and make a skill plan that would support these skills with the results of actually raising the characters value? The main problem I see is that if I decide to go for weak support skills, then the aforementioned skills would be even more useless, right?

2 points here.

1. You and about 100,000 other pilots will do the same thing. 6 months from now, the market will be flooded with alt toons for sale and it might be hard to make a profit...or break even for that matter.

2. You should look in the character bazaar for similar characters to compare to. The skills and price will be easy to see there.

Load up eveboard and get your character listed there. It's a nice app. It is what people will want to see when you sell the toon .
