For helping the Amarrian Space Poodles to become the Amarr militia's highest ranked corporation for kills last week and the 24eme Legion Etrangere to top the alliance killboard.

We had an absolute blast. And, judging from your lemming-like ability to leap into the jaws of death from any station undock in Hek, so did you!

As I understand it the proposed changes by CCP this winter will make it even more difficult for you guys to reach Tier 5 and enjoy weekends like these on a more regular basis. We share your pain....

Your corp appears to no longer be ranked first.

That is all move along.

Let's see. Late Night Alliance.....

Sixth largest Facton Warfare alliance (with 211 members). Fifth on the alliance kill list with thirty less kills than our 6 person corporation and half the kills of our 38 person alliance.

No wonder we haven't met.!

I can't help but point out that in terms of top alliance by points your not even in the top 10?

To me this means one of two things.

- You blob everything :brofist:
- You only kill frigates and the like.

Feel free to explain this when you have the time.

Okay. In order. Here we go.

Points. You got me there. I didn't know the point of Faction Warfare was to earn points. I thought you had to kill things before they killed you (or in my case, try not to be killed too quickly). Where do I get these points from. Are they for sale in Amarr?

Blobbing. Can this be done with six people? Awesome. Any tips?

Frigates. Scrubbing frigates off my 'to kill' list now. This is bad apparantly.

Probably referring to Battleclinic points, which are earned for each KM and provide an alternative metric to raw kills and isk destroyed. Players, corporations, and alliances are ranked based on these points. Those who top the rankings end up rather well-known.

From their FAQ:

Battleclinic wrote:
BattleClinic uses a proprietary system to award points to kills (and to award negative points for losses). We do not disclose the formula, but we can tell you that skillful combat techniques are rewarded. In other words, you can't climb the ranks very quickly by sitting outside your POS and shooting Velators for a month.

Your ranking is based on your points compared to the points earned or lost by other players at a specific point in time. Due to the volume of killmails we process, we update standings weekly. Note that tens of thousands of other players are involved in combat as well as you; therefore somewhat significant swings in rankings can occur. For example, fleet fights can generate a thousand killmails or more. If several large fights occur within a short time period, they can statistically impact player rankings. In short, your ranking is not directly influence-able, since you're competing with tens of thousands of other players.

BattleClinic only tracks the ranking history of the top ten thousand pilots in EVE-Online. If you don't have a ranking history displayed, you're currently not in the top 10k.

From my experience, killing ships your size or larger is worth more points than killing ships smaller and cheaper than your own. Killing things solo or in small groups is worth more than killing things in large groups. Destroying well-fit PvP ships is worth more than gun-less, unfit, or PvE ships. Etc.

The merits of the battleclinic system have been thoroughly debated elsewhere. But a fair number of PvPers do consider the point system valid enough to take pride in their battleclinic ranking.

Edit Addendum: This would be Perkin Warbeck's ranking, which would explain why some would find your claims less than impressive.

You say you can't blob with 6 people but as I was referring to your alliance stats I'm sure we can agree you can blob with 30.

Also I never said you can't kill frigates I was just pointing out that soft targets whilst boosting quantity do little for the quality side of things unless its a 1v1 between frigates.

Late Night Alliance

In the 9 months our alliance has been active...

~1 Trillion ISK in kills
~19k ships killed

24eme Legion Etrangere

In the 6 months your alliance has been active...

~ 150 billion ISK in kills
~ 2k ships killed

Not bad. But you need to step it up a few notches. Twisted
And for the record... less than half of our alliance is actually active. Lol

Lol. I'm suprised I rank that high to be honest! Not sure they got all my losses and those skill points calcs are well off too.

But I am proud of my Poodles. That number of kills with a corporation our size is a real achievement. There are quite a few juicy ones in there too. We will enjoy our moment in the sun although I am sure that normal service will resume next week.

And Shahfluffers - those stats are pretty impressive. We'll try and catch up. Promise.

It's because 24eme Legion Entrangere are a separate alliance to the Amarr Empire. Our stats do not show on your killboard.

As far as I understand it Eve Who aggregates all alliance stats in each faction and reports on them.

However eve who is also only counting FW kills, so anything non FW killed by a corp in FW will not appear in the count. Makes it so most people don't care about that particular stat.

However, well done, its hard to get to the top of any kb in regardless of the metric used

Eve who bases its stats off the API stats listed here: http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/EVE_API_EVE_Factional_Warfare_Top_Stats

Some important things to note:

-Kills in this page mean the pilot/corporation/alliance received the final blow on a killmail. Therefore this number will be significantly lower than traditional killboards which give credit for the kill to everybody on the KM.

-Points means the victory points (ie capturing plexes). The important caveat is that VP are not awarded when capturing your diagonal oppent's plexes.

-The corp/alliance information on eve who is mostly broken because the EVE API is horrible for FW. The only place in the API where ones militia affiliation appears is in the KM API. Since this isn't public, EVE Who has two choices. Process a bunch of killmails trying to build a database of which corp/alliance belongs to which faction and deal with the fact that it can be out of date or just grab the list of "top" corps/alliance from the FWTopStats.xml API. Eve Who did the latter which means it misses corps/alliances which don't rank in the top ten in something and it has no idea which faction the corps/alliances belong to.
