As only dealing with vile a few times in my years in eve usually on the recieving end of his weapons and pre arragened 3 ways hostile and friendly, watching his work with the csm you could tell he was a person who truly loved this game and put his time and work into its improvement. May his family and friends in Eve and life find solace and peace knowing that he was a great father friend and countryman. I commend him on his bravery and service to the United States of America. Men Like him make this country the best it can be Proud and Free ........ And may the people who commited this act of senseless violence meet swift justice.

R.I.P Vile rat

My condolences to family and friend of Sean.

I've had to listen to a song a few times tonight originally done by John Lennon, but this version is sung by Avril Lavigne.

Every time i hear it it brings tears to my eyes, this ones for you Sean http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sJrwTgFt3Ek

In view of this, may I suggest that we suspend WarDecks for a week so that all parties can attend and also to show some respect for a fallen brother!

We don't have any active wardec's. Several of our long term enemies showed up for a tribute tonight and then joined in on the Ceremonial shooting of blues (I.e. The Thunderdrome we threw on the undock, a few capitals got doomsdayed by passing titans).

I find it sad that a lot of people give in to hatred when something like this happens to their loved ones. He is in a better place now, and spreading hatred towards those responsible for the attack will only make this place worse for those of us who were left behind.

I don't know which religion his family and friends follow, but i just hope that they can find it in their hearts to forgive those responsible for this tragedy.

R.I.P. VR as an American as well as an EVE online player I am truly saddened by his murder, like so many who serve our country in dangerous areas of the world, he was trying to make our world a better place.

My prayers go to his family, I hope that playing this game helped him tolerate the real life dangerous assignments he undertook on behalf of all of us his fellow citizens, this loss of a fellow gameplayer and fellow citizen is deeply impactful.

EVE brings us all together from all over the world, i'm glad VR was in both of the universes I inhabit, the one I was born into and the one i choose to subscribe to, he will be missed but never forgotten in both of them.

Vile Rat has been confirmed to be KIA in Benghazi; his family has been informed and the news is likely to break out on the wire services soon. Needless to say, we are in shock, have no words, and have nothing but sympathy for his family and children. I have known Vile Rat since 2006, he was one of the oldest of old-guard goons and one of the best and most effective diplomats this game has ever seen.

His family are in our thoughts and prayers.

Died in service to his country. He didn't deserve this fate. I hope justice can be done.

I wish clone technology existed in the real world, and we could welcome him back.

Rest easy, Sean, you have no more worries.

Died just because someone was looking for an excuse to stir up trouble. My condolences to his real life and in game family :(
