Places to sell Kern/Omber (storyline agents, where?)

I've heard that Kernite and Omber can be sold for high prics in mission hubs, especially ones with storyline agents in them.

But what are those hubs?

This is true. I recall running for a Lvl3 storyline agent in Amarr space.
The mission required 10,000 units of Omber, and there was none for sale within 10 jumps in that region.

Once I found a source of omber, I started buying it for x and selling it on that station for 5x. Mission runners were happy to pay it because they got a million ISK implant, the standings and avoided a hauling job.

I do recall that the while it was a nice return when it sold, it wasn't all that regular.

You can sell them for high prices except for:
* not all storyline agents have a decent amount of volume,
* bot bannings tend to slow down sales for a while,
* you're not the first person to think of this, so be ready for a price war,
* you'll probably want a freighter, which isn't cheap nowadays.

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

I've got a Freighter. And I've got large amounts of Kernite, and maybe Omber too. I just need to know where those Storyline agents are.

Chribba's site eve-agents lets you select by region, by storyline

You can also show all level 4 security agents in a region

Use the starmap to show NPC ship kills

You are welcome Cool

The ingame agent search is an almost exact mirror of Chribba's eve-agent. That's another option. (storyline agents are L1 agents).

NPC kills shows the relative activity of a mission system, but it doesn't tell you the demand for omber/kernite. For that, you need to use both the market order list to gauge and pinpoint the systems. The market graph is almost useless for trade hub regions, however for quieter regions, you may be able to tell its relative demand and cross-check that with the market order list to determine the best systems.

Or do this: In the area that you're thinking of doing this, just put 2-3 missions worth of Omber/Kernite in the storyline agent station (agent search will find those) and see which ones sell. The better places are those in constellations with higher numbers of L3/L4 agents of the same faction as the storyline agent. When I did this in the past I did find that demand seems to cycle, so you may want to leave your test running for a couple months.

So basically, I just do an agent search, and find all Storyline Agent stations, and exclude those not in high-sec (via the search form, if possible, else manually), and then they're all going to create demand for Omber and for Kernite.

i know ... *shock horror* having to work to play a game :p

Making a profit of supplying required ores at storyline agents is dependant on a couple things.

That agent is picked to offer someone a storyline mission
The player is lazy and won't want to fly 3+ systems to get it cheaper elsewhere.
The player is not a tightfisted Amarrian who would happily fly 27 jumps to save 0.02 ISK per unit

Anything from 3x to 10x normal sell prices can be achieved, but you do NEED to get your pricing right, and as already mentioned sales can be slow sometimes.

That's more or less correct as SL agents don't have levels. Obviously the ones closer to missioning hubs are more likely to offer Materials for War Preparation more often, but you'll also likely see more competition from others with the same idea in those locations.

Hell, when I used to run in Dodixie I basically owned the Kernite market there as well even though I was just working from buy orders in a few nearby regions. Margins and volume were such that I could drive any competition out of business without any real problems (though I think it took a few weeks once). Once you're playing margin games on tags doing the same with Kernite doesn't require a whole lot of time or creativity.

Okay, I've compiled a list of all the regions with Storyline Agents in them located in high sec systems. I have not excluded systems outside of connected high-sec, as the EVE Agents side does not provide for that.

Way to much work for very little return. I know someone set up some Omber to buy at one I use, I still jumped over to a hub for the cheaper price.

I'm a nerd, you can check my stats!! Skilling Int/Mem at 45 sp per minute is how I mack!     I'm like a lapdog, all bark no bite.

Most people who know don't want any competition. And there will be competition - most of these stations will already have people doing what you're thinking of. I used to do it out in Genesis, and even out there I got into price wars.
