If you can earn enough isk to buy a carrier you can earn enough isk to buy plex for a second account.

Nah it ain't that expensive. You have to maintain another account that's 500 mil a month if you aren't paying RL cash... 500/mo you can stack up caps with if you don't loose them often. Some people are fine with having a few and calling it good. You don't HAVE to get another account. ...but if you have a lot of caps it's just worth the time to set up another account. I don't wanna be the guy having to ask someone for 30 cynos, ya know....

Edit: ...and for that matter don't ask me for 30 either.

Yes they do exist. The percentage that are solo cap pilots, might be a more interesting answer.

Yes they do, I know of a least one that's played for years solo (not mine btw). That person has never had another account unlike me that had 6.

I fly caps and dont have a cyno alt. Used to have a few but cba to activate those accounts anymore. Good thing I got friends who can sort the cyno's for me...

seriously if you are afraid your capital gets killed because of whatever reason you shouldnt be flying one.

I jump to cynos lit by corp/alliance/coalition/other blue entity members frequently

You're way more likely to find no alt cap pilots in C5-6 wormholes where they get used mostly for escalations, rolling holes, or home defense. Getting locked out of your home system could be a problem without an alt or a good friend on standby.

Most people in wormholes have alts for other purposes though (scouts, miners, hauling).

Quite alot of guys who only use their caps on fleet ops have no problems being 1 acc cap pilots.

I was using Rorqual just to create jumpclones for my corpmates. Never left original sol system. BTW, capital ships are fleet ships. If you dont have corpmates who help you with the cyno, then something is wrong. Yes, those days is about the cyno alts and secound acc, but it is not necessity. Your corp mates can do it too.
