It used to have a slightly longer range than the meta 4... These days not so much.

if u mean comparing to warp disruptor ... this module shuts your enemy mwd preventing him from running away in addition to preventing his warp (Disruptor only job) - in addition it has better warp disruption strength in case ur enemy is using stabilizers and consumes less capacitor as well

Not junk, just uses more cap and CPU and costs more than meta 4 for the exact same effect.

That's why I'm confused by this useless waste of space stuff.

You need the right ship to use it and the right skills. Fit it in frigates or Arazu/Lachesis, on everything else is a bit of a wasted mid slot.

Are you sure? Tech2 is supposed to heat up more quickly than tech 1. I haven't tested this though.

What does it do in those ships?

Tech 1 does indeed heat up slower than t2.

Unless there is some major cost difference (meta 4 being notably more expensive), T2 scrams are useless.

T2 scrams could be marginally useful if you go through a lot of them, and the logistics of inventing/building them yourself are somehow (?) less of a problem than the logistics of shipping in meta modules from a trade hub.

Not sure for which scenarios that would be true, though.

Last I checked, it was cheaper than the Faint Epsilon. If you have the CPU, why not?

Once upon a time it was cheaper than the meta 4 version.
Now they have the same price.
There are a lot of modules that have the same problem, t2 nosferatu and neutralyzers have the same stat as meta4 but use more cap/fitting.

it used to be a LOT cheaper than M4 until the nerfed M4 gear prices by increasing the drops.

Repercussions of the change to meta drops.

Used to be... metas were more rare, fit easier, and took less skill training. Hence, they were much more expensive.

T2 are man made, but take more training. If you had the skill, they were often cheaper.

Now that metas drop left and right... we'll see how T2 fare in the future.
