Ok,

this fit explores a concept of being able to send a probing scout/terrorist to where people don't want one, eg through bubbled wormholes, but something that has a bit more features than a covops or bomber. As it includes a lot of stuff I've never really used and is generally not something I normally fly, I'd like to ask some opinions. It might be totally derp and I've probably overlooked something, but what I try to achieve is a defensive/evasive ship instead of mostly offensive:

- bubble immunity
- not kiteable to death by regular ships (speed and warp stab)
- some resistance to neuts
- able to kill or at least shake off something small
- bonused probing
- some tank to last while burning out of tackle
- scram to shut off an MWD

Cap battery vs booster? There's plenty of fitting left for bigger guns, duals for tracking. Active tank for fitting and mobility.

10 seconds to lock a frigate
6 seconds to lock a cruiser
5 seconds for a battlecruiser
4.4 on a battleship

Thin as paper, enough rep to tank a cruiser, and enough DPS to give a destroyer a run for its money.

No.

And make sure you have a scanner alt that doesnt die

You really need to lose the stab, its a terrible idea as it gimps you totally and only helps if one person is attacking you with a warp disruptor and not a scram (you are allowing yourself into scram range with THOSE guns).

Thanks,

I fly a Proteus a lot, mostly in a cloaky, heavy tank one with drones http://deadonarrival.eve-kill.net/?a=pilot_detail&plt_id=783630&view=ships_weapons&m=8&y=2012, and I'm aware of it's offensive capacity compared to the fit in OP. This one is not meant to be a primary tackler, or rely on tank & gank to survive. But like I said, totally not yet sure if the whole concept is viable at all, so comment are welcome!

Yeah, 100MN ab and scram would be the protection against getting scrammed.

Problem with plated blaster Proteus without drones, like both of your fits, is that it can be kited to death with a Velator with small rails. Only way to avoid that is to jump back through the wormhole, if that is an option, and that is precisely what I want to avoid. ECM drones will help in this, but they don't work well for example against Tengus with the sensor strength subsys.

I want to be able to get the bookmark from the other side, and get back in system even if there are people on grid. Yes, a covops can usually do this, and much cheaper, but it can't do much else.

For this specific use "...concept of being able to send a probing scout/terrorist to where people don't want one..." you will be cheaper/efficient enough with a reccon.
If the idea is just to have a cloacky ganker having high mobility and very decent dps then all you need is a Loki, cloacky/nullified, mwd/DED large shield booster all running cap stable.
If you do it right this thing is close to impossible to catch unless you do some stupid thing (it finishes to happen)

Edit: Prot is awesome if you have back up or escape options, if not and specially rail gun fitted you should think about something doing the same thing for cheap. Just an opinion

Yeah, I think I'll scrap this idea, and stick with SB/covops scout and my normal cloaky Prot or Arazu.

The evasive properties of this fit don't warrant the price and low offensive potential.

Cheers guys!
