New Craze That Id Like To Know It It's Considered An Exploit.

Hi

I have noticed recently in multiple systems that Alliances like EvE Uni are leaving a CRAP TON of drones floating in space around stargates.

This Ofc means no cloaky attacks, no easy warp after jump in.

Is this considered um.. an exploit?

It seems to me its deliberately stupid

Anyway, any ideas? opinions etc?

We've been seeing it in other systems we explore in as well.

Anyway, just curious

Were they camping a gate and being run off so fast they jumped before recalling their drones (or before the drones reached them) ?

Triggered by: Wars of Sovless Agression, Bending the Knee, Twisting the Knife, Eating Sov Wheaties, Bombless Bombers, Fizzlesov, Interceptor Fleets, Running Away, GhostTime Vuln, Renters, Bombs, Bubbles ?

The drones are on, i think we counted 8 gates all around Aridia, all eve uni drones and there are and i mean A CRAP TON of them left around the gates, at least a 100

The only time it was considered a exploit was when people where doing it to effect server performance for those who where jumping in. Since most of that has been solved I doubt its a exploit, and more a "normal" use in order to decloak people.

Depends on the GM, rule of thumb tough is as long as they don't create any lag it's not an exploit.

It is (expletive) annoying if you run into such a gate. There is no way your cloacky indy or cov-ops can escape this. You're toast if the gate is been clouded by abandoned drones and they're waiting for prey. What?

Had a GM contact a fleet member saying that it is an exploit, half a year ago, the "dirty bubble" is not allowed. I have yet to hear a GM say otherwise in regards to this, so since that happened I never do the dirty bubbles anymore, to decloak people. From my understanding it was because of increased lag regardless if intent and result is just to decloak ships. I believe that rule is still in effect, but I have yet had the opportunity to be the victim to it and petition it, just had someone petition the people I flew with back then.

But it made sense to me that it is considered an exploit and not allowed, even if just because of lag, it does come across as circumventing intended game mechanics.

using drones to decloak people is legit tactic. I also use Jet cans. Jet canning 1 Ammo, makes a decloaky can. A gate camp with 25 people doing this is pretty effective.

I still have my doubts in cases like this.

The best way to find out if something is considered an exploit is to raise a petition with the GM's
