Indirectly, a lot.

A great deal of our science-fiction tropes first appeared or were popularized on Star Trek -- the concept of 'warp drive', the idea of a computerized display device that 's thinner than a paperback (which evolved first into PDAs, then into tablets and smartphones, and then into the idea of EVE's data-pad). Even Sansha's Nation has echoes of the Borg, with their interconnected community.

EVE owes a lot of its concepts to early science-fiction, but Star Trek in particular brought many science-fiction elements to the forefront and allowed them to flourish.

transpires we have a lot to thank star trek for IMO .... not that i was a big trekkie at the time .

The clam shell design? I am not sure. The Trek version was just cover over the device itself. The mobile phones have a useful device in the cover (upper half) and in the lower half.

The similarity is there, but I think it is more conceptual. From practical point, modern phones got more stuff going on.
