Strange contact on private channel

Hello, fellow capsuleers.

Today I have been doing my usual daily business, when I received strange message on private channel, that I usually use for communication with my planetbound family.

It took me few minutes, before I figured, it was encoded in hexadecimal system.
I then ran it through my ships computer, and got this translated text:

I then sent message back: "Who are you? Please, identify yourself, and how you managed to get into this secured channel?"

So I tried to figure this code out, and decided to go with trial and error method.
After few attempts, I produced this:

After few hours of waiting and unsuccesfull atempts to trace source of message, I got this, already uncoded message:

We are Overmind Binar, joined group of sentients uploaded to database/processor inside head of artifically engineered and watgrown capsuleer body.

We are infomorph entity.

This group is part of larger community, named Binar. We (at least majority of us) were once meatbodies in physical world, but now we reside in host bodies all around New Eden cluster, and on GalNet network servers.

This host serves as remote sensor, communication device, and also effecor for our collective.

After that, all further attemts to contact received no response (except from normal, now confused questions from family, who insisted, that channel was entirely unavaiable in past few hours).

Another confusing thing was, when I browsed my corporation info, that one capsuleer, named Overmind Binar, has been member of my corp from 09.07 11:51 to 09.09 17:37 this year. But I have never accepted anybody with that name, neither someone of recruiters. Strange...


So, question is: Is any information I received reliable? Did anyone seen something like this recently?

It sounds to me like you have a capsuleer whom joined your corporation shortly after graduation. (Graduated 09.07 10:08 and joined WNMH 09.07 11:51) Remained in the corporation for approximately two days (09.07 to 09.09) and then quickly went insane.

Could be insane, could be an actual rewriting of a capsuleer mind. I'd have to see the full data including brainwave scans in order to make that determination.

Sadly, I couldn't provide any evidence, as all communication has been done remotely. If you could find Overmind Binar and scan her/him (host body seems woman, but hard to tell about personality/personalities of such being), I would appreciate any updated info.

Well, in fact (well at least from my point-of-view), we all (meaning capsuleers) are already some form of infomorph (you could argue about this, but it is still open for debate). Seems, that this group (Binars) just took this one step further - at least if all of this is fact, and not some sort of hoax, planted by some clever hackers...

Unit is Unit Commune, or part of it.

It sounds like this particular capsuleer received some inside information from someone in your corporation, to be quite honest. An invisible application? Corporate channel information and access? These are things that you get through informants and friends in the right places more swiftly than hacking.

It sounds like this particular capsuleer received some inside information from someone in your corporation, to be quite honest. An invisible application? Corporate channel information and access? These are things that you get through informants and friends in the right places more swiftly than hacking.


Well, as Security Commander, I have launched investigation about this case. Any info/contact with that particular capsuleer will be appreciated. Running check on all members of corp.

If you could find more info about Overmind Binar's whereabouts, or provide contact, our corporation will gladly appreciate it.

While there is a possible gramatical error within this statement, should this statement be gramatically correct, it may be that 'Entity' of the Rogue Drone Systems corporation has changed it's approach.

This group is part of larger community, named Binar. We (at least majority of us) were once meatbodies in physical world, but now we reside in host bodies all around New Eden cluster, and on GalNet network servers.

This statement appears to simply claim that, much like the CEO of Zainou corporation, These beings have uploaded their conciousness into some form of digital system. Unlike the CEO in question however they claim to have returned to Capsuleer bodies.

This host serves as remote sensor, communication device, and also effecor for our collective.

Syntax error detected. Compensating.
This statement is self explainatory. however, use of the term 'effec[t]or' is apparently incorrect in this context, as a capsuleer is capable of a variety of actions.

Effector : an agent that mediates a specific effect.

Analysis complete.

Conclusion:
Possible RDS Reboot. Threat level - low.
Apparent similarity to Unit Commune : high. Requires further investigation.

Yeah, seems so. But OB claims to be joined group, not single mind. And capsuleers are still humans, at least in sense using their own brain, while OB claims to reside in database/processor inside head, not in brain itself. But this may be only small difference, due to our implants - but those are still only connecting brain to machine, not storing entire consciousness...

In my opinion they just try to accentuate again their origin as infomorph.
"Entity of the Rogue Drone Systems" is unknown to me, so I can't argue about this.

This looks like either inexperienced individual/group, or simply bad translation.
Hovever, it may refer to some sort of specialisation in that unit.
Maybe it is relevant, maybe not.

There seems to be increasing trend in last few years to migrate even more to virtual realm.

I have personally met entity few months ago, that claimed to be entirely artifical, yet sentient (despite known ban on developing strong AIs)...

It looks like that some beings took current trend just few steps further.
It reminds me of Sleepers. There are some striking similarities, yet with inexplicable differences, that doesn't fit into scheme...

Pilot Irmitrij, We would note that the brain is simply a biological data storage and processing device. One that is capable of storing an entire conciousness.
We would also note that it resides within the cranium.

The being(s) in question state clearly that their origins are (mostly) human, but that they became infomorphs at a later date. This is a standard trait amongst capsuleers. The vast majority of whom have left their original body and transfereed their conciousness into another clone at some time.

We surmise that the use of the specific term Effec[t]or was in error, however such specialisation is possible.

Further Materiel required for further analysis.

Well if you don't mind me stumbling into this conversation. if theres lack of Data wouldn't be logical to go and look for said data from the supposed source aka this Binar that functions as flesh avatar for the OB? Technically the body is still capsuleer thus still contains all of the necessary implants that would not only let us to ping his location and also allows him to communicate over Neocom in general.

also im mildly amused by mr. Irmitrij's failure to recognize hexadecimal encoding i recall that being part of basic mathematics on planet side schools as simple numeral system conversions.

I recognized it immediatelly. But I can't translate it from head, thus my attempts in decoding via computer (and it was faster).


Well, due to my resignation from WNMHG, I am no longer maintaining that part of investigation (except of reports from fellow ex-corp members). Hovever, I am keeping investigation on my side open.
