Standings Grinding Duration / Needed Skills

I did use the search function and wished that the old forum was still available...

I was wondering how long it takes to grind standings by mission running
from 0.0 to at least 6.

Choice of Race / Faction is somewhat secondary, unless it effects and reduces the time it takes.

Also I would love to get to know what kind of skills are needed to run Lvl4 Missions (Security)
I might consider giving away a limited API for my mission alt to get advice omn what to fly and what to skill
to become better / more efficient at mission running / earning isk / standings.

Thanks in advance

In my opinion:
You should pick the Race YOU like to fly, or
the neighborhood/region YOU want to live in.

That would help narrow down the miles of advice you have to filter through.
(Typical mission pilots fly Caldari ships.)

What I can tell that's universal:
Skills are in the 'Social' category. Read and train the ones that affect the agent types you mission for.

Standings increase are dependant on storyline missions. You get one storyline after every 15ish regular missions.
The timeline is relative to how many missions you can grind out in a day.

What I remember is, there are 4 plains of progression.
Skills, training time, to the next class of ship
Income, ISK.
Talent at manipulating the harder missions. Piloting skills, not trained skills.
Standings for better agents

CCP has done a pretty good job of coordinating these four progressions at about the same rate.

I recommend you find a mission corp and join them for experience, and more fun.

that is very sound advice and I thank your for it,
although it might not take into consideration the reason and circumstances why I asked the qiestions in the first place.

regarding the duration (Part 1):
I know the relevant skills and know the 15-mission-stroyline progression.
I just never was any good in math to put all that into one equasion.
Therefore I would really appreciate "an educated guess".
Something in the line of "3 hours per day will take you to Standing 5 in two weeks, IF you can finish each mission in under 10 minutes" or something like that.

or even how many missions if my skills were all.... dunno. Level 3 maybe.

regarding your advice on that Mission corp (Part 2):
right now thats out of the question as I want to increase the standings for my new (and own) corp.
I have further plans and those standings are essential for those.

therefore I have to rely on sound advice from the forums and guys like you, who just know more than I do.

thanks in advance

1. Grind faction standing to 6.0? Read -
It'll probabaly take a week or two depending on how hardcore you intend run it.

2. This one has a long and complicated answer depending what you intend to fly. Newbie starters usually graduate from Caracal (L2) > Drake/Tengu (L3) > Tengu/Raven/Scorpion Navy Issue / Raven Navy Issue/Golem (L4). Caldari boats tend to make the best mission runners (due to the selective damage) - at least during the early stages. Skillwise, the ship's hull itself has a recommendation tab that you can take a look at. You can use that to start with. Find a boat that you intend to use and post again for questions if any. Be specific.

It really depends on your skills and ships you can fly.

Reaching level 3 missions is a pain if you aren't doing them quickly, or find an area where you can pick and choose the missions you are getting (which is the biggest help).

Beside the obvious skills needed to get a heads up on standing gain and efficiency of the standing, pick and choosing your missions to get the quickest ones (even if you get the least standing from them), will allow more story line missions.
After you reach level 3 missions, its get easier as the story line missions gives more standing, and after 2-3 story line missions, you are into level 4 missions.

the faction standing repair plan is indeed a very good source for quickly gaining facion standings even if they are not broken. you can get most of it done in ~20-30hrs play time.

I should buy an Ishtar.

If you have isk its very easy to get standing fast, simply train social and connections to a decent level then complete the data centre agents missions (hand over tags you bought in jita). Do this in addition to the opening career agents, sisters arc etc and a new player can have level 4 standing for all the main factions a couple of weeks into eve.
