Thought on armor tanking

Would a low slot module that added some armor hp as well as a passive repair on armor work? Wouldn't add as much hp as a the 1600mm/400mm/200mm/ect equivlant. Make them have penalties for adding more or something to keep people from loading them on. Just a thought, sorry in advance if this has been put forth before.

Hi Savnire!

Is there any specific reason as to why you would want such modules?

I don't really have any reservations about regenerative armor, nore do i quite see the point in it either.

Regenerative plating would let you roam in a buffer fit without a rep or burning ISK on repair.

I'm an idiot, don't mind me.

Sounds fair enough to me. To do that you wouldn't need a very high modifier, so there wouldn't be much balance concerns. At least none i can think of right now, but it's getting late P.

That was my orgianl thought. I don't have a repper on many of my ship fits and wouldn't mind a passive regen on my armor hp so I did't have to dock and pay for repair/fit a repper then, undock with half my fit gone.

This. What I have been hoping for in some form for a while for armor.

That's originally what I thought(hoped) 'Regenerative' Resistance Plating would do. Now called 'Armor Layering', it adds a percentage of the ships armor hitpoints instead of a set amount that the Plates do - only really useful on Capitals. I thought it would've been a great idea for CCP to make that module actually regenerate and have players strongly consider mounting it to their subcaps.

It's called Power Diagnostic System, but unfortunately it works on shields, not armor.

That is for shields, people should stop being silly and wanting to make everything alike.

Smart use armor, silly use shields. Lol

On a serious note Op, Armor should get some kind of "take a look at" in near future but don't expect anything smart or balanced enough relevant to the real and effective negative effects you have to deal with when armor fit.

Makes a couple years this is being debated and over looked/discussed/trolled, from old forum to new one all possible negative points have been put on the table, ideas to fit it even if some were "out of whack" and others more like duck tape on a wood leg injury but in the end, nothing and I really mean absolutely nothing was correctly pointed and openly discussed with or by Dev's except CCP Fozzy latest comments (who still say nothing but :words:)

And then they throw us at the face an Armor Reactive Hardener with an Ubber skill Roll

I still use armor ships with shield fits because they're finally worth for something, and if you put in ASB's they get just awesome.

Thx CCP and all the awesome armor trolls polluting each and every thread about armor with their crap science and uber blindness inability to realise tools for "x" task and role can be different and still be as fun and effective in between type "A" and type "B"
