Good morning everyone, I have recently got back into playing EVE a couple weeks ago since around 2010 and still kind of fuzzy on a lot of things in this game, but I'm looking to fit an Abaddon for PvP and would like to know what skills I should get to level 5 to fully fit a Battleship. I would appreciate the help everyone!

Gunnery and tanking skills are obvious. Armor rig skills are critical too. You want to buffer tank it, if I'm not mistaken. The 4% implants can help EHP/damage nicely and are not too pricey. Don't forget about cap skills, including Propulsion Jamming; Amarr needs them more than anyone else. Navigation skills will be needed to actually get you in range with all that armor.

While drone skills seem less critical, they actually are more important because you need to squeeze more out of them. I'm Caldari... we're experts in lack of drones.

ECCM and Sensor Boosters are popular utility midslots.

Here are a few loadouts of what you might want to consider optimizing:

http://eve.battleclinic.com/loadout/23960-Abaddonica.html

Btw, T2 plates got a buff this past patch, meaning armor buffer tanking has new options and potential. Those fittings do not factor that change in.

Also, if you can get a two man fleet in system, the basic leadership skills add 10% armor. It’s a very nice boost to EHP.

None of those are fleet fits (fleet baddons are hellcats or arty/alpha) The most common basic fleet doctrin fits for the abaddon are:

http://eve.battleclinic.com/loadout/46606-Fleet-Artil-Abaddon.html
http://eve.battleclinic.com/loadout/50949-Abaddon-Hellcat-Abbadon.html

There are fitting variations per alliance etc but these 2 are pretty basic.

The hellcat is designed to work with lots of logi on field, thus resists over buffer, I'm not sure how commen arty baddons are anymore.

Most important skills are capacitor related skills, it NEEDS t2 pulses, for arty fit you could get by with meta. BS4 minimum ofcourse, great armor tanking skills, navigation and drones are less critical since it's a brick and doesn't have a large drone bay.

A pvp Abby is one of the best tanks in the game. For me, it's a ship that deserves a lot of skills at V.

BS V
AWU V
Armor Comps V
Large Energy Turret V - Pulse Spec IV

I like the Armageddon better. Half the price and near 75% more DPS.

Navy Geddon is almost the same price as an Abby these days, and you pick up the 4th mid slot and an extra low slot.

Those are interesting. I didn't really think about fleets.

I've seen YouTube videos of that ship surprising people who underestimate it. It would require for more drone skills to get that DPS. Btw, the Navy Gedon has a great drone bay with room for a flight of heavies and mediums. >:}
