He is the man personally responsible for launching the 2010 ATI driver release package that optimized frame rates for the EVE client! I actually met him at Walmart, he was waiting for his tires to be exchanged and I was like "OMG, me too!". So it turns out he now works from home in the lovely state of Florida rather than making a daily commute, he told me he has been DYING! for a chance to optimize the new Carbon Engine but it keeps getting put on the back-burner, he did say that there could be a thorough revision of "clean release" for memory coming up in a future ATI catalyst package but he didn't want to completely let the cat out of the bag.

I didn't have anything of value for him to sign, so I had him sign the back of my proof of insurance card, which ironically had a "sign here" area. Just goes to show you celebrities are everywhere, and they even shop at WALMART!!! Big smile

Now with 100% less Troll.

UH OH! We got a real dark internet nerd here! Looks like he doesn't care what you believe, 315! You better watch out, if he stops caring about what you believe, WHO KNOWS WHAT WILL HAPPEN.

Yes, if you wander around the planet long enough, you are bound to eventually step into something ...

Some years ago I was buying mass quantities of alcholic beverages at a large liquor outlet store for a party I was throwing for the weekend. As I was looking for reasonably priced wine in quantity, I had a shopping cart full of wine bottles, when I bumped into a short fellow who began quizzing me about why I had so much wine in my cart. I told him about the party and he insisted that I needed to unload "all that crap" and buy his wine instead (which he was promoting). In fact, he said if I would buy it, he would autograph the bottles (further offering to stand there and autograph as many as I would buy. I still have one of those bottles on my bar.

His name was Pat Paulsen. Some of you who are as old as dirt like me will remember him...

Unfortunately, i have an ATI Radeon HD Catalyst card. Worst card I've had ever, but due to budget restrictions. I'm stuck with it for a while. It shuts off on a regular basis without even being luke-warm.

FC, what do?

That's not.

I think the only ATI card I've ever bought was a TV Wonder card and I ended up having to resoder the coaxial connector because it fell off after a month of use. Ever since I've only purchased Nivida cards and they've always outlived the obsolescence span the industry seems to impose on these things. Which is kind of annoying in a way, since it sucks having to pay for an upgrade when your existing card is still working fine.

Yeah my Nvidia cards have all outlived their usefulness, take a tip from my book and stockpile the components so you can refit them if your current card combusts, i've got an entire backup system made from old parts incase my should die, and when it dies i get to indulge in what i call 'Classic Week! (or Month)' as i wait for replacement.

Cool! Hell yeah I remember Pat Paulsen. Dry, dead pan comedian guy. Was on Laugh-In or something, right?

I met Gregg Allman once in Hiroshima, Japan. I was in this European style bakery-coffee shop at breakfast time. I'm ordering my coffee at the counter, and this kind of semi-hot hippy-looking American girl next to me says, "Oh, you speak Japanese." (I'm a Euro-descent American). Anyway, we sit down together with our coffee, and we're talking about what I was doing in Japan, etc., then I ask her, "What are you doing here?" She says, "I'm with the band." I'm about to say, "What band?" and I look up and Gregg Allman is standing right there saying "Hi, I'm Gregg Allman." Beard, hair down to his waist, tattoos all over both arms. He was a sight for the locals to see, alright. Not the kind of foreignor who'd typically wander through a small Japanese city.

So we all had coffee there, and he was really a down-to-Earth, cool guy. Acted like just a regular blue collar Southern boy. He said he'd just finished being in some kind of crime action movie. I asked, "Did you get to kill anybody?" He got all excited and said, "Nah, but I got my head blowed off!" He invited me to go with them to the Tokyo for their concert that night, but being a dumbass, I said no. I was on my way to work, and my roommate and I were having a party at our apartment that night. I figured I couldn't miss a party I was hosting. Man that was stupid. One of the dumbest of many dumb things I've done in my life. Smile
