It all works for me. Also I seem to have a small boost to fps and CQ loading time (no actual data). Is that just my imagination, or did you improve things?

Problem ~ Having finished downloading the Inferno 1.2 patch, client closes saying it will then apply the patch. Waiting a few minutes as per usual, I restart the client. The window pops up again saying: "The update has been downloaded. The client will now close and the update process begin. Press 'OK' to continue." Patch is not being applied and this process is never ending. No status on whether it is actually being applied.

Hardware ~ 15-inch MacBook Pro, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB, 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3
OS ~ Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4

Steps: 1) Download patch. 2) Close client to apply update. 3) Restart client. 4) See step 2.

**I'll concede that it may just be taking a very long time to patch, but it's never taken so much. Is there normally a progress bar that I can't find?

I had this same issue, what I did was:

- Right click on the EVE Online application, "show package contents"
- Found the patch files (ex: "EVE_Online_384443-390556_mac.patch" which I think were in the Resources folder)
- Deleted all the patch files
- Opened the MacOS folder
- Launched the "EVE Online" terminal file

Launcher opens, re-downloads what it needs, applies patch, and then everything works. Seems to be an issue when the patch downloads inside the client instead of from the launcher, which then doesn't trigger patching like it used to (because patching is supposed to be the launcher's problem now I guess?)

Hope this helps.

I'm seeing something similar, along with console errors:
8/8/12 6:31:26 PM [0x0-0x37a37a].com.transgaming.EVEOnline sh: /Applications/EVE Online.app/Contents/Resources/tgApplyPatch.app/Contents/MacOS/tgApplyPatch: No such file or directory

Fair enough, there really is no /Applications/EVE\ Online.app/Contents/Resources/tgApplyPatch.app. There is, however, /Applications/EVE\ Online.app/Contents/Resources/EVE\ Online.app/Contents/Resources/tgApplyPatch.app.

I'm not sure how I got into this situation. The toplevel EVE app has EVE\ Online and python in it's Contents/MacOS dir, while the nested one contains something called cider.

So how can this be run?
$ open /Applications/EVE\ Online.app/Contents/Resources/EVE\ Online.app/Contents/Resources/tgApplyPatch.app
LSOpenURLsWithRole() failed with error -10810 for the file /Applications/EVE Online.app/Contents/Resources/EVE Online.app/Contents/Resources/tgApplyPatch.app.

And if I start it from finder, the following gets logged:
8/8/12 6:45:59 PM tgApplyPatch[43621] Usage: <Patch tarball path> <Output path> <ProcessID>

MacOs 10.6.8, client originally installed at inferno 1.1

Symlinking tgApplyPatch.app into the outer application directory seems to work. (That is, typing the line
ln -s /Applications/EVE\ Online.app/Contents/Resources/EVE\ Online.app/Contents/Resources/tgApplyPatch.app /Applications/EVE\ Online.app/Contents/Resources/
into a terminal.)

http://pastebin.com/hxnFTLtH < because I can't "paste HTML" on the forums

After downloading the client again to work around this, and you guys releasing another two patches I've now spent 4 hours sitting redownloading the 12 gb required to apply a patch that is smaller than 20 seconds of hardcore fetish porn.

The link about the alternative method of patching refuses to work, and I'm missing out on valuable market

Same here. Conmsole says this:
8/10/12 7:29:39.545 PM cider[538]: -[VideoController setFullScreen:](): exception occurred while switching video modes: Unable to get display mode for resolution 1920 x 1200 and depth 32

Same issue here.

Workaround is launch it in 'best for retina' mode, then go back to your scaled resolution.

Still has the same issue if it tries to launch in windowed mode.

Problem : The EVE icon does not appear in the dock or tab switching, everything else works as normal.
Hardware : MBP 13" latest model
OS : 10.8 Mountain Lion
Reproduce problem : start client, might have started after dragging the icon of launcher or client from the dock.

Since 1.2, I am having a problem where Eve Online just freezes, the system doesn't lock up, and I can easily force quit the program, restart, and return to playing, however it is starting to get really annyoing.

I have an early 2011 13" macbook pro, 4 gigs of ram, running Lion, with the intel HD 3000 graphics.

I have tried setting all settings to minimum, tried windowed or fullscreen, and reinstalled the game, so far I haven't found a solution.

Has anyone found a work around for this?

I am on my new macbook pro retina, I felt everything so squash specially the text. I play on 1280 x 800 scale eve client(greater scale don't feel as comfortable as 1280 x 800, if you play on any scale greater than 1440 x 900 eveything is tiny!).

MacBook Pro Retina 15.4" Mid-2012
2.7GHz Intel Quad-Core
16GB 1600MHz DDR3L RAM
OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.1
Nvidia GT 650m + intel HD4000

I hope CCP could optimize it in the near future.

Thank you.

My client freezes at times.

This is my MBP Mid 2010 With Nvidia 330M (auto switch)

My OS is Mountain Lion

At first, each time I got frozen, I looked up the monitor and found Adobe Flash Plugin in Chrome. Then I blocked it.

However, I still got another freeze after I blocked the Flash Plugin... So I don't know why.

After freezing, the CPU will be occupied with 100% with System Load on two threads (each thread are on each core - normally EVE will only use User Load)

Eve Online has yet to produce any sound, ever, since I've switched over to OS X. I dug around a bit in the Eve Online.app folder, and noticed all of the sound files are in Vorbis, however I assume Eve is able to decode these files and play them back so I assume the problem is somewhere between Eve, the runtime it uses to emulate Windows, and OS X. Is there anything I should be checking in my OS X audio settings that may have screwed this up? Is there any config file ( for Eve ) I could take a look at to maybe clear this up as well?

I previously had a MOTU Traveler audio interface for my primary source of audio in/out, however I've removed it and the software in an attempt to see if it was the problem. It was not, as now I'm just using plain vanilla built-in output for audio out. Audio works for other games (TF2, other Mac games, etc.) and it also works in general in the OS for things like Spotify or iTunes. This is as far as I've gotten. I'm a pretty technical person (software dev day job), is there anything else you guys could maybe point me to to further troubleshoot this issue? I've checked the Console.app for any sort of weird error logs as well maybe coming up from CoreAudio but that also proved fruitless. I'm pretty much stumped at this point, anything would be helpful.

Model: Early 2008 Mac Pro
Audio: Built-In Output
Video: nVidia 580 GTX
CPU: Dual Quad-Core Xeon 2.8 GHz
RAM: 16 GB DDR
OS: OS X 10.7.4

There's not much of a step-by-step guide I could post except for the obvious launch Eve, hear no sound.

PS: I've checked all audio settings in Eve and they are as they should be. I've rebooted, restarted the client, etc. all the first aid steps are taken care of.
