Station Services Window Resizing, CQ Positioning and Perspective Issues

We have one serious bug and two very major visual issues.

Window Resizing

This is the most urgent bug.

Whenever I dock in ship spinning mode, this occurs. I want my station services window to look like this, but every time I undock and redock it switches back to the first picture.

Please fix this super-fast. It's going to get really annoying to players if they get their beloved ship spinning back but are forced to put up with this.

CQ Positioning

You've got issues with where you put the CQ balcony relative to the ship and the rest of the hangar. This is most egregious in Amarr and Gallente stations but there are minor issues with in Minmatar and Caldari stations as well. Now that we have ship-spinning back, people are going to be able to very clearly see how much you cheated with the positioning of the CQ balcony.

This is a shot from the CQ balcony in a Gallente station (back when we had the Gallente CQ interiors).

This is a shot from the opposite side of the docking ring in ship spinning mode.

I very strongly suggest repositioning the balcony to a more realistic location. I strongly recommend, at least in terms of the Gallente hangar, moving the CQ balcony onto this crucifix-shaped structure that sits just above the main docking ring.

Perspective Issues

CCP, I've really got to stress in no uncertain terms that the way you bring ships closer to the Captain's Quarters balcony LOOKS WRONG and now that we have ship-spinning back, the wrongness has become even more apparent.

This is what a Rokh looks like in a Caldari hangar when viewed from the CQ balcony.

This is what a Rokh looks like in a Caldari hangar when viewed from an orbiting camera drone.

My honest suggestion would be to move ships viewed from the CQ balcony back to their native position on top of the hangar landing pad and stop the spinning motion, instead using the same gentle rocking motion ships do when in the ship-spinning hangar. We've got ship-spinning back - we don't need these ships to spin anymore.

Overview not updating properly is probably the most urgent bug tbh...

different dev devision than the work being proposed on here... doesnt apply m8.

also good suggestions!

i would add that if CCP should create a focus blurring it would help with the appearance of size/scale. use the centre of the CQ view area as the point at which to create sharp focus.

Despite my experience with image and video editing, I'm having a little bit of trouble visualising this - would you mind making a mock-up to demonstrate your suggestion?

Yeah, the ship scaling bothers me as well. Since the hangar environment used in the CQ is full 3D, I can't imagine there being too many problems with setting the ships at the center of the docking ring. (Unless whatever skybox utilization is being used to render the ships and holograms in the CQ is prohibiting the devs from doing this?)

No, they actually had ships sitting in the centre of the docking ring back in the very first iteration of CQ they released to Sisi, but players complained about not not being able to see small ships very well due to the distances involved. Given that we now have the hangar view to let us see small ships up close, we don't need to worry about that anymore.

What the heck! Yeah, they definitely should change it back to the center.

Snip

I don't have that problem at all, my windows all stay in the same place and size both pinned and unpinned so it could be something at your end.

I have reported some other minor visual problems in the correct thread but nothing game breaking.
