About AFK cloaking...

do you want CCP to edit the cloaking mechanics/modules? it has been suggested over and over. they're not optimistic.

Like Mr Epeen said, we need new equipment like a 'tachyon' grid, sentry or array if you want help purging grids or systems of AFK cloakers already sitting in your anoms. Otherwise CCP puts a very inconvenient deactivation timer and nobody wants this.

It's not the AFK players you should worry about, It's players like me who log in and sit cloaked in system all day while playing games or doing stuff on your other monitor. The AFK players are harmless.

I'm just waiting until you get stupid and come out make isk.

Plus asset denial through either fear or holding a Anom from re-spawning are valid tactics when fighting.

If you can keep your enemies pour and scared to actually play your winning already.

So, you're basically agreeing with mr epeen's idea (which i liked) AND my view on AFK cloaking in general, then telling me to **** off?

We get enough people on these forums who post useless content without properly reading what is being discussed. **** off.

yes the word filter is amazing. I said... p-iss off somewhere else if there's a problem in your anom. don't take things so personal..

What the fuᴄk do you want CCP to do? what do you want exactly? instead of moaning about this whole thing, do you got a constructive idea to suggest that hasn't already been suggested?

All I said was keep them out of your space or honestly go somewhere else... meh what a useless thread.

I asked what is CCP opinion on the subject. That is all. Why you feel the need to use words that need filtering and saying what useless this and what useless that is beyond me. If its useless to you, then don't post and... go somewhere else.

My sugestion to a new cloak system is: cloak modules consume fuel! Some thing like jump systems need . Much more tactical minds to use cloak in the right time. You may use cloak to attack but u cant use to stay away cloaked for a long time.
Just my 10 cents..

The only reasonable solution to the problem of AFK cloaking is for the pussies whining about it to biomass.

Everything else is just a band aide.

i have posted the solution to this probally 20 times now. the way to slow or stop afk cloaking is to make a skill. the cloaking device has to give of some form of resonance. this should be able to be picked up via scanner or new probes. the scan res would increse with each level and at level 5 alow you to warp withing 25k of the target. finding it from there should be easier. this would change how afk'ers play thier game. and it also gives some of us something else to train. anyways thats not the whole deal but i think it gives you a general idea....

Yeah, cloaked ships don't move anyways you twit. Also, what is the point of cloaking if you're visible on scan. How about you accept that this is a powerful element of the game that CCP doesn't want to water down because of pussies like a few of you.

How does being in a fleet solve the problem of some guy using cloaked alts to prevent anoms from despawning?

30 ships in line running smartbombs. Grid the site and smoke him out.

there's a much easier solution than massively reworking how the game works

just fill anoms with dustclouds

or ignore it entirely of course because afk cloaking in anoms is the sort of area income denial that's been lost to eve for a while

^^^ this is by and large too damned true..

I spent 2 days on this topic and came to one single conclusion.

As long as income/asset denial is an excepted and valid tactic then no amount of persuasion to remove something that is able to enforce that denial will even be considered.

CCP needs to determine if AFK cloaking - solely for the purpose of denial - is in the best interests of getting and keeping players in 0.0.

My belief is that until that mindset changes it's all **** and wind. Only CCP have the stats on who/who isn't in 0.0 and if they don't percieve it as a problem... Well the rest is obvious.

As an aside, all other arguments about "how to" etc. are inconsequential. Any recon pilot can get into any system and camp it if he's worth his salt. That's one fact that is undeniable and is known and undisputed by the majority of 0.0.

What he or you does AFTER he decloaks is up for grabs and not in contention. So save your breath.

Tut tut.... Read what he said first. Only the AFK cloaky can be scanned down and popped if he doesn't move. If you're cloaked and active you simply move.

But I don't like this. If you're cloaked for recon/intel this would make it impossible. Can't come back to same asset.

If it was deemed as needing to be changed (by CCP) I'd prefer a simple random decloak pulse. No recloak penalty must apply though - If cloaky is active he should be able to re-engage cloak with no delay. This will not penalize the active, working cloaky - and nor should it.

Yeah you're right [sheepish look]

Easy fix, as has been mentioned. Despawn the site regardless of anyone in it... unless it's considered a valid tactic.
