Bouncing around the lovely domain when my local was flooded with this very familiar spam.

so, might aswell start betting, I'd wager they walk away with atleast 200bil.

thats probably a lowball, but I still have some hope for the eve population not being ********.

And here I though the next scam would give us more time to forget Phaser Inc. Though looking at their website I'm not surprised. The couldn't even be bothered to put the entire thing though google translator.

I invested in Phaser, and pulled out after doubling my money. An early investor could have gotten 4x their money. These guys I wouldn't trust them to stick around long enough to get 1.5x.

There is a legitimate way to make a real bank here in eve, unfortunatly, this requires extensive manpower to actually put together, the actual work that must go into such a massive project is simply overwhelming.

The mere fact, that they are not crystal clean about exactly where the ISK is going and how its coming back, is good enough for me.

No trustworthy figures are present, Anybody, not a single face, let alone 10 faces ( as it should be for redundancy ) we know and can trust.

This scam is clearly not going to fly well with any one who reads the eve forums.

Yeah, saw that text ad making its round in one of the systems.
There's at least a few billions in it even with a crappy minimal efffort, depends on how long they intend to run the scam for.

My ballpark guess, humm .. 25-50bil profit?

do you really have to post such judgements on an ISD character? Ugh

The English version of their site is horrible (and whoever was responsible for the translation did apparently realize this and stopped halfway through^^).

e.g.
Quote:
Margin of profit up to 900% normally is usual.
destroys all the beauty of the original
Quote:
Gewinnspannen von teilweiße 900% sind oftmals keine seltenheit.
which when translated verbatim becomes:
Quote:
profit margins of (partly/sometimes) 900% are frequently not a rarity

the opposite is true of the About page
Quote:
Of course we have a real live und of course we need always sometimes more or less time at RL
is much more interesting than the bland "We do of course have a RL which we will not allow to suffer [as a consequence of this venture]."

... and then doubts about the number of people working on their project started to creep in during translation: "three young business administration students from Switzerland and a computer scientist" turned into "three BWL students and at least one information scientist" in the English version Lol

(the character name of their webmaster translates into "tomfool" by the way... Roll)

indeed - but I don't really care about misspellings (and can't pretend to know spelling standards in Austria or Switzerland).

They are trying to run a confidence scam and not only do they fail completely at inspiring my confidence (silent youtube videos creep me out), they also appear to lack confidence in their own statements:

Whoever wrote that site constantly feels the need to introduce additional fuzziness, hedging and contradictions - even when there is no statement that could be relativised (e.g. "Um die vielen Anfragen jedoch gering zu halten" - "But to keep the large number of requests small ...").

Spelling can be checked and fixed in 2 minutes but the constant contradictions within the sentence ("frequently not a rarity", "always sometimes more or less time") are a real issue.

If you want to sell me a lie you have to keep the lie as simple as possible and you have to believe your own lie sincerely while you tell it.

"Can you borrow me some isk?" is probably a more effective scam than "Send us your ISK so we can use your ISK to make more ISK, we will pay anywhere between 4 (but really 6) (actually up to 10!) percent interest per week (which is calculated in a complex and not fully sensical scheme to take partial weeks into account). We earn your interest by rewarding your continued trust, which actually means by investing into our top secret traderoutes (which are so secret that we ourselves are not allowed to know them for security reasons) using our network of secret alt corporations and by the way you can't withdraw your money during the first three (or four? actually four) weeks which is really in your own best interest (we promise!) because it allows us to make things even more complex"
