Hey I just picked up two of these cheap puppies, and my question is, can the code be used to give me 30 days after my account has been upgraded, or can it only be used to upgrade a trial? Looking around I see a mixed pool of answers to this.

Last I've read is that they're only valid for trial accounts, i.e. you can't use them to extend your subscription period.

As Aethlyn correctly stated, it is not possible to extend gametime on an existing full account using a CD-key such as the one you'll get with a retail edition of the game.

What you can do with the key is to apply it to a trial account, and thus get 30 days of gametime, full account, and the special ingame item: Cerebral Accelerator

Another thing to note, is that the buddy-program rewards are not compatible with CD-keys either. That means, that any 21-day buddy trial account, upgraded this way, the inviter will not recieve any reward.

ISD Etetia, could i get confirmation on whether or not this was a recent change? I was pretty sure I got the plex reward when doing this in the past (with the COE box code)...... I do know i recently attempted the same thing with the amazon offer and did not recieve the plex reward from the buddy invite.

The previous EVE box release had a 60-day GTC which could be converted into 2 PLEX.

I bought 4 or 5 when Amazon were knocking them out for a tenner Cool
