in before people argue that ginger hair and redhair are the same thing.

They are not.

Ginger is orange/rust color named after the spice.

Red is red, like the blood on your shirt after a redhead punches your lights out after calling them ginger.

My girlfriend is an Irish-Jew ginger... but she's also a vegetarian so she can suck the fun out of anything P

Also the Irish seem to have no working knowledge of genetics... the ginger gene is recessive so unless both parents have red hair there is 0% chance the kid will have ginger hair. It's kid might though

Err...it seems you don't understand genetics either.

Two dark-haired parents can both carry a RECESSIVE gene and not know it. If so, each child would have a 25% chance of being ginger.

If I painted my hair red then I too would be a redhead, because I now have a red head. You certainly wouldn't continue calling me a brunette else I would call you colorblind.
