Went to start up EVE and i keep getting an error. Ok so I found the problem once i was about to post what was coming up lol. My internet got shut off for about a week and I tried to log in when it was disconnected :/ ( I didn't know it had been shut off at the time) Now that it's back up it's telling me that it's being redirected to an ATT redirect page that basically says hey call us cuz we've shut your internet off. My internet service has been restored but keeps giving the error. Here is what I have done.

Restarted Modem, Router, Computer.

Ran Repair Tool and downloaded an update.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yikes! Have you tried a reinstall? Or a reformat, if that doesn't work? A pain I know... What?

I'm avoiding a full re-install lol. 3mbps :/. I'm wondering if there is a way I can reset or clear the Cache for Internet connectivity information. The Client must be saving it to make connection faster. Now that a dead end is apparently saved in that location hopefully I can just clear it so it sends it to the EVE servers instead of a redirect page.

This may help, or it may not

clearing the cache

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Call tech support!

So a guy in India can tell you how to fix your computer made in Japan and bought in whatever country you live in Big smile

lol thats pretty funny "CCP can't patch stupid". Very nice. Well I tried that and now I'm just blowing files away that look like they could be the problem. Like the Launcher I just deleted everything in that folder and I'm repairing it now to see if that did the trick.

Stop deleting Files!
if your web page keeps getting re-directed, your modem may need to re-sync with your ISP.
Call your internet company (AT&T I believe)
they will assist you in getting your internet up and running.

Problem solved! Deleting the launcher completely then running the repair tool 2x solves this problem.

The web browser is working fine it was just the EVE launcher that got it stuck in its memory to send me to a redirect page. Weird problem but it's fixed and I can log in and blow stuff up now. Thanks for the help.

Sounds familiar. The EVE launcher connects to an Amazon cloud service when it starts for error reporting (but failing it won't stop the EVE from launching).
It's something else I think.

From my experience, the launcher has the tendency to give off unable to connect messages if you run it just right after a fresh reboot i.e. the minute you log into Windows. You need to jumpstart it by opening a web browser to any website. Even then, it may take a few tries before it'll connect. There's something in the code that just doesn't like a system's network service(s) restart/change. It's a non-issue most times (which I cba to bug report), but can get it can annoying just right after a BSOD or hard freeze.

Sometimes it takes time for connections to be restored. Call them, see whats up.

Thanks for reposting that it was solved i was to busy to playing eve to check the forums lol. Yeah people like to try to nab people with those. I usually look at the address or what the lettering is then just google that to get a safer result. I guess this could be locked now that the problem is solved. Thanks again.

Assuming anybody uses the search function ... well, at least you're being optimistic. :)
