Strengths and weaknesses of the Maelstrom

Hi Ships & Modules,

Could you please give me 3 (or more) strengths of the Maelstrom, and 3 (or more) of it's weaknesses with PvP deployment in mind?

Also, for extra brownie points, can a well fit Maelstrom run null sec anomalies, ladar, radar and magnometric sites comfortably on it's own? As in, not DED complexes, but everything else.

Thanks,

Pro's:

Good damage projection
Choise of damage type
Good DPS
Good Tank

Con's:

It's slow
Doesn't have the AC range that say a Mach has, for some missions arty's are more suited
It, as all minny ships doesn't shine with AC's until you have t2 guns

Very well skilled it's an amazing ship, but it requires a good amount of sp to shine.

Pros:
Can fit awesome ASB tank
Can fit good buffer tank
Awesome alpha with arties
Good dps with ACs
Not as cap reliant as Abaddon or Rokh

Cons:
Big signature, vunerable to bombs
Slow for a minmatar ship
Bad optimal with ACs, need to get in close to actually apply damage

Cons:
- For a Minimatar battleship, it has a huge signatur and it's slow (compare the Raven: Same sig, same speed, and Caldari excel at building slowboats with immense signatures).

- Has a damage bonus, but no damage application bonus (optimal/falloff/tracking).

- Shield boost bonus is useless for buffer (armor or shield) tanks.

- ROF bonus isn't as useful for alpha fits as a damage bonus would be.

- Machariel and Vargur.

- Lower paper DPS than Tempest or Typhoon

Pros:
- Good slot layout
- Doesn't need missile skills to reach its maximum paper dps.
- Good at active shield tanks

Pros
huge alpha with arties
solid dps with auto's
good active tank
good slot lay out
good sized drone bay
with lots of Sp it can be a real monster

Cons
lower dps with arties
auto's lack damage projection
relatively low ehp
slow
big sig
needs to be T2 fit for it to really work
not a lot of bandwidth for drones

i fly this T2 fit maelstrom for lvl 4 missions and very rarely run into trouble

8x T2 1400's

T2 shield boost amp
T2 large shield booster
2x T2 invuls (change for rat spec)
T2 Emp res amp

T2 DCU (can be swapped for another Gyro)
2x T2 gyro
T2 TE
T2 cap flux coil

2x ccc
therm res shield rig

5x T2 valks
5x T2 Hammerheads

i pushes about 770 Dps with 35km optimal and 92km falloff, tanks around 460 dps forever but if you set it up for specific targets you can get around 500-600 and still have about 350 against everything ells. if you pimp it it starts to get crazy too.

The pros and cons have been pretty much covered.
Maelstroms are suited for pilots doing missions and incursions mostly.
For PvP, look into the Tempest or if your skills are really high and in the right areas, Fleet Typhoon can wreck shop on the right targets.
For null anoms you might have success running them until you lose your ship to other players. Which you will.
